Bumping the 3rd to a 2nd is the only wiggle room.

Then PLD is a Jet for one more year. Next year after resigning him for his QO they'll either move him as a playoff rental or keep him for their own run if they're doing well.

Besides it makes no sense for Montreal to trade for him now. After the season is over sure but not now and it'll still cost more than this offer.

I think if you sub Kidney for Norlinder and remove the 3rd, it could get done. Dvorak is a cap dump in this situation, but would be good on the Jets 3rd line. A good F and D prospect, plus a mid to late round first should do it, considering Dubois will walk after next year, or WPG doesn't get this return at the deadline that they get here.

They can keep him for one more year, but nobody is going to offer a better package than this for a pure rental so Jets will accept an offer like this.

Habs do have a reason to make this deal because I don’t believe it is Montreal or nothing… there are probably a few big market teams he would sign with . You don’t want to take the chance of him going to the market and someone giving him a ridiculous offer. Just make the trade and he’s yours.

I don’t think the Jets will get this kind of return at the deadline unless it’s to a team who believes he will re-sign which I don’t think there are many teams that believe he will. And even if another team comes up with a similar return, I believe the Jets will covert Mailloux regardless of what some fans think of him as a prospect. He is considered to be a great D prospect within the scouting world according to multiple sources. He also fills the Jets biggest need for a big top 4 two-way right handed defenseman.

I could see us adding Kidney, I wouldn’t be opposed to that.

Chevy has skeletons in his closet, he doesn’t care about what he did. He wants the big right shot defenseman. Trust me.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say......deadline next year is just a rental trade, which won't get this kind of return.

Yea they’ll get like 3 picks at the deadline which may end up being better than these spare parts. Florida pick is only thing of value
