Again, why do you think the Canes would accept that? An excellent 2-way RHD who plays top pairing minutes on a bargain bin contract, the Canes aren’t going to move him unless it’s a massive overpayment, which that is not. You don’t move a cornerstone piece of a contending core for pennies on the dollar. As much as you Sabres fans would hate it, any conversation concerning Pesce would start with someone like Quinn.

Mittelstadt doesn't get you Brodin, much less Brodin and a 2nd. Johnson doesn't really add any value here IMO since he could just sign with us on his own in a few months. It's basically just buying the negotiating rights for a pending UFA.

Again? This is the first time I posted it and because it's Buffalo's turn now

It’s not necessarily you, but my point still stands. Why should the Canes sell off one of their cornerstone pieces, “because it’s Buffalo’s turn now,” especially for a lowball offer like that one? Players like Pesce rarely hit the market, but if they do, they get a massive haul. This isn’t a package worth the Canes times even discussing. The Canes are currently in their contention window, it would be very unwise to move Pesce now, without a massive overpayment coming back.
