Buffalo isn’t going to trade for vlader because it would block Levi’s path for two consecutive years. Nothing against the player. Just not the right fit.

NEED a bit more change than that, there hasnt been injuries this year that have hugely hindered the playoff chase, and cant really see all 4 of the young guys (pelletier, coronato, duehr, etc...) all progressing to be able to fill those roles, so where does the real improvement come from?

And really setting up a bit of a contract armageddon with lindholm, tanev, hanifan, zadorov, kylington, backlund, toffoli all hitting UFA at the same time (never mind about the RFAs). I think CGY has to look at the valuable expiring guys they could move (kylington, toffoli aren;t those), but lindholm and zadarov would have good value in trade, as both are still cheap, but expiring, and could get back alot.

Some kind of help now and depth, like (pure example) Lindholm to PHI for Laughton or Morgan Frost, 2024 FLA 1st (top 10 pick possibly) and a good prospect. Zadorov could fetch a good prospect and a 2nd.

I just think that CGY needs some kind of real change and avoiding the contract armageddon of 24-25.

How would it block his path? Levi isnt a #1 from day 1 and he could easily over take vladar and V would be the backup. The reason for not doing this deal isnt blocking Levi's path. Its because Vladar isn't particularly good.

Luukonen + Lyubushkin 50% retained for Vladar + a 7th makes more sense

I see Dube being traded. We'll probably not re-sign one of Zadorov/Tanev. We'll probably trade one of Kylington/Hanifin. I legit want to keep Lindholm, he's still at a good age and his main attribute is hockey sense, which means he'll last a long while.
