Fixing Hextalls disaster

Description
Don't mean to be repetitive as I've said a million times that I think we should start the rebuild this offseason. That would be my preferred route. Another option, which I don't love but would support, is getting any competent GM and a coach that isn't so attached to the team, and try and get 1-2 more years out of the core. 2 years is the absolute max I'd push this though. After that it's 100% time to rebuild imo. I think we need significant changes to even make playoffs next year. Completely revamped D and bottom 6, new goaltending, and youth/toughness in the lineup.

No thanks on that Petry deal. Would rather pay more for Mayfield and get him over you guys signing him. Honestly man Petry is pure dump, trade clause that blocks every team that might have the slightest interest in him, which likely isn't many, and a big cap hit with an extra year of term.

I don't know how much value he'd get, not exactly the greatest contract. Have tried trading him for value on here and pretty much everyone has said no

Agreed, just stated that since he signed him for 2.5 x 3

Plain and simple the Wild cant afford Rust's contract. So highly unlikely the Wild make this trade.

Wings do not need retention so retaining gives 0 extra value. Penguins add pickering and this year's first for 2 years at 6.5 million cap dumps for wings to take Petry
