Interesting idea and it's not a Bad Idea for NJD at all. Mang is a Stud who can play Either Wing, Works his butt off and can is a Scoring Threatat Even Strength. He's already proven he can be a Sniper & Power Play Specialist and yet will Kill Penalties too

Freeing Up the Cap Space to use elsewhere, securing a Big Young LD and Holtz's Future Potential would be appealing to CGY for sure, but Mang is a Much Better Winger than most will know by simply looking at his Offensive Production this season. CGY'd still have Toffoli, Kadri, Dube & Huberdeau who can play the Top-6 Wings with Pelletier, Zary, Ruzicka & Coronato & I guess Holtz competing to bump Dube & Toffoli down & out, so it's definitely not a no

NJD could use another Top-6 Scoring Winger now as opposed to waiting for Holtz, who would become expendable with long-term contracts in place for Meier & Bratt and Mangiapane would fit in and do well there for sure

My issue is how do you afford to re-sign Mercer after next season!? Other than that, my Lines would be as follows:

Meier-Hirshier-Bratt
Mangaiapane-Hughes-Mercer
Palat-McLeod-Sharangovich
Foote-Lazar-Bastian

Manga had 1 career year scoring 35 and 55 last year. Other than that he’s is a 30-35 point player. There is no world in which this offer is even considered. Holtz alone at his worst will be a 30 point player. This would is the kind of trade that gets a GM fired. And we don’t need another top 6 forward. If Holtz doesn’t take it himself we can always resign Tatar and he will come way cheaper than the 5.8mil Manga is making.

And sure, go with a 33 year old 15 Goal Scorer 3rd liner in your Top-6. You won't get much Physical Play and Absolutely Zero Penalty Killing out of Tatar or Holtz, but yeah they're just as good

Yeah Right, Give Me A Break, You need another Top-6 LW over and above Meier and that's IF you can keep him and not lose him to Free Agency. By the time Holtz is anywhere near as good as Mang at Scoring in the NHL, the Team will be coming apart due to all their Great Young Players getting raises and having to fill in with Cheaper Younger Options.
