I think the Rangers easily match that offer as its only for 1 year.

They don't have the space, the entire point of using a 1 year offer sheet is to lure the player out at a price the other team cannot match. Look at Kotkaniemi in Carolina. 6.1 was too much for Montreal to match, this is funnily enough in the same place

Keep and they have to sign Miller and Cytil too. They don’t have much room

If you remove Eyssimont you have enough space to keep Oshie as well.

Is that the right thing to do? Eyss would be a sneaky good pickup.

I think you'd have to, TEB basically confirmed my suspicions that neither he nor Backstrom is going anywhere this offseason, so Eyss would not really be possible if the team wants to run a 23 man roster.

So carolina would just help their straight up division competitor by providing them with their own 1st pick versus an awful contract instead of going for a UFA like Krejci knowing Boston won't have the money, and that Krejci may want toi join another team ready for a cup run?

Makes perfect sense..

Carolina declines.

Krejci won’t play for another team. If on the trade market Kuzy would be the best center available. He has two year left and the have the cap for him. Could we retain a bit sure but a first is a great deal.

Nah. It's a bad trade, contract is awful.

And ps. Krejci will play wherever it pays him to play. 50+ goal season.. Bos won't be able to pay him.

Sir, have you lost the plot? Krejci doesn't even have 20 goals this year and literally came back out of retirement to play for Boston, why would he go anywhere else, especially when he took a discount in Boston this year? Meanwhile Kuznetsov was a ppg center last year and still is a 0.7 ppg player this year, 7.8 is perfectly fine value for a player of his caliber. I don't see how getting a 2C who plays like a 1C for the next 2 years would be a detriment to Carolina.
