yea his Vancouver tenure was just odd

Canucks have been a tire fire for 10 years so pretty much every Canucks tenure is odd

Here is an absolute beauty song put together after the bench brawl

chicago...

Flyers are getting on track, and their average age isnt 9000 like the pens.

The Flyers have been a mess for a while, but they're about to have a 2nd Top 10 pick in two years, and have a decent prospect pool (ranked 14 by Scott Wheeler TheAthletic)

and a lot of young players took strides this year Frost, Tippett, Cates, York
----

Also I'm more taking a shot at Hextall who ruined the Flyers in the first place, with slight classic Pens/Flyers banter

At least we have a sense of direction and we at least have the dignity to acknowledge we’re not good anymore

The Flyers have said multiples times they're rebuilding, especially since firing Fletcher.

Chicago's "direction" is sell everything for scraps and hope we're decent again in 12 years. Are you forgetting they litterally traded multiple high value assets for Seth Jones a just 2 offseasons ago? Which became uhh hmm... David Jiricek and Cole Sillinger.

I personally prefer what the Flyers have done I mean even comparing trading Franchise cornerstones of the last decade Kane and Giroux

Flyers got
1st
Tippett - who has become a 25 goals scorer, and has potential to grow more
3rd

Chicago got
a 2nd round pick, with a VERY low chance of being a first
and a 4th

Arizona got a similar amount for just brokering the deal as a 3rd team lmao

As long as torts is the coach, he won’t let the rebuild happen

They're literally drafting in the Top 10 tears of joy

A coach can only make a team so good, they're likely gonna trade off some better players in the offseason too so they'll have a bad team again.

Torts is also on the record saying multiples times, they have to rebuild, he's actually the one who fully sold Management on it, before Briere was hired

Chicago has the most horrid roster i've ever seen and even they aren't running away with Bedard

I think its clear the new era has started

As Ovie and Crosby are out of the playoffs (first time since 2006)

Part of me think both the Caps and Pens can make it back to the playoffs next season if they make the right moves during the off season because Ovi and Sid/Geno were still really good this season. Part of me think that neither of them will see the playoffs next season (and perhaps for the rest of Ovi and Sid/Geno's career) and will be medicore teams (not bad enough to compete for the #1 pick and not good enough to make the playoffs).

Washington made the right moves, Pittsburgh on the other hand... yikes. They're already one of the oldest teams in the league with a terrible prospect core. They're trending downward, not up. Washington is almost the opposite .

Yeah and with bmac projection of making some big moves this offseason that will put us back in contention I think we get back. He had an amazing offseason. I think he will repeat

Gonna be weird to see him in another jersey, but makes sense based on Chicago's trajectory and Toew's age

Maybe not retiring even if I feel his health problems and decline would make him retire

Should’ve signed him months ago. Now they’ll have to bridge him.

Don't think it's a problem if they get it on a 3 year bridge. That way it expires when Ekholm and Kulak do.

Do y’all do a team report card thread? Interesting to see fans views on their own team.

true but at the pace Bouchard is at he can command 9.5-10 mill in 3 years. They probably could have gotten him on a 6-8 year deal in the 6.5-7 mill range a few months ago

Gonna be interesting to see how Holland fits everyone. As the one issue with Ekholm is that contract. As 6mill makes it to where EDM got around 8mill and need to sign 6 guys. Bouchard eats half that 8mill so 4mill to sign 5 guys

I'd imagine him signing. He seems NHL ready to me.

Yeah he's definitely NHL ready, would probably have the 2nd best calder odds behind bedard next season if he signs.

I've heard some people say that he might actually be able to take the Calder from Bedard. I don't think that happens unless Bedard gets injured.

bedard probably puts up 100 points next season lol . I see Cooley putting up 60-70 pts with a solid two way impact.
