Oilers win their 9th straight which means if the Kraken beat the Knights in regulation they win the division (and possible the conference if the Avs lose tomorrow) and face the Jets in round 1 but if that doesn't happen they face the Kings in round 1, either way they have home ice for the first round.

I don't know how to feel as I want the Oilers to win the division (and possibly the conference) for the first time since the 80's but I think I would rather face the Kings over Jets as Hellebuyck scares me and Korpisalo and/or Copley don't scare me at all, plus last year proved they could beat the Kings (-Fiala +Quick) but last time they faced the Jets and Hellebuyck they got swept

also Skinner just broke Grant Fuhr franchise record for wins by a goalie with 29 wins

U would be very surprised about playoff Korpisalo

People forget the guy broke playoff records

"Korpisalo made history in a five-overtime marathon between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning to open the 2020 playoffs. The Blue Jackets goalie made 85 saves"

And this was against the TBL

I get it they beat in reg season but playoffs be different and his playoff numbers when he played TBL and TOR were nuts

1.90GAA, 0.941SV 2 Shutouts

If he taps into that state he could make this series very interesting and not as one sided as people think it could be.

Huge changes in Pittsburgh. Who do you all think the replacement will be? I've got money on Eric Tulsky (CAR) or Steve Greely (DAL). Supposedly Pittsburgh wants to revamp their analytics department and take a different approach to team building than they have in the past. Pennsylvania native Eric Tulsky would be a home run get

It’s so early I have no clue. Tulsky is intriguing for sure. I’m open to Pat Brisson and the agent route as well. Derek Clancy who’s the AGM in Vancouver also has connections here but I admit it’s not a deeply inspiring idea to bring him in.

President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford in Vancouver also has some connections to the Pens. I won't if he's an option...

As GM? No way, we’ve done that. I would take him in his role here but that’s a lateral move.

No in all seriousness, I hope the Flyers and Pens can be good again. I miss what the rivalry use to be

If we screw up this next hire we will indeed complete a cycle.

I just had a delusional canes fan tell me Svechnikov is miles better than Guentzel and Skjei deserves Quinn Hughes money. Another fun day on ACGM!

Always fun when that happens.

I’ve been in a debate about why I think Korpisalo is a better goalie than Jarry and that playoff series is reason number 1.

I would be hesitant to give Korp a big deal as he could go back to his old ways next year

I would do a 2 year deal with Varlomov as by 2025 goalie options are better.

Or u trade all remaining assets to bring in Gibson

Pretty crazy multiple guys playing through injuries especially in a year when getting a top 3 pick is like a 1st overall most years.

I got a feeling come 2023-2024 Toews will sign with one of

1. Winnipeg
2. Colorado
3. Toronto
4. Tampa
5. Carolina

Of those 5 best guess its gonna either be AVS or Jets.

The 2022-23 Oilers secured the best Power Play percentage in NHL history last night which is super cool, also instead of giving the player of the game vest to a player they gave it to Glen Gulutzan the Oilers PP coach.

It’s normal, players simply don’t like missing games, it’s partially on the medical staff for not shutting them down and partially on players for wanting to play through injuries they shouldn’t. It felt like 75% of Habs player played through injury/injuries

I wonder if Anaheim gets bedard should they then start making some trades to fix other areas while also rebuilding

As to me Girard makes a tonne of sense for them and they got some nice pieces the Avs could want.

Girard for Henrique and a pick or two. I think maybe Zegras is asking too much

He honestly might be a good choice for the Flames as they are built similar to the NSH team he coached when they were monsters.
