Doesn’t seem like a good idea for MTL. That’s a lottery pick for someone that hasn’t shown much yet.

I don't think Hughes or Gorton want to do an OS on anyone unless it is as a last resort. Like if the Rags insisted on the Habs 2023 1st + a top prospect and won't budge. Even then they may just move on.

It would be more cost efficient to offersheet ( in any combination Miller/Kakko/Laf) all to 1 year 4.2 million dollar contracts. They would have difficulty matching all three and would probably end up Losing 1 of Laf or Kakko.

I belive the Habs will finish betwen the 12-18 spot in the standing, and fighting for a playoffs spot.

And about that OS, that's not from me, I just saw this opinion somewhere...

We aren’t going to be in the mix for a playoff spot at least 2 more seasons. This OS might even put us back further. The 2024 1st is going to be a higher pick and probably a better player than Laf.

Kakko isn't an RFA this year. 1/2.

Habs are nowhere near finishing in the 12-18 range next year, They're not going to be any better than Buffalo, Detroit and Ottawa. And you still have Tampa, Toronto and potentially Florida holding top 3 spots.

I don't know Montreal would just sign LAF to a one year contract, then they forced to QO at 6.25m the following year. Rangers might not even to be able to match a 4.3m offer sheet which costs a second
rounder. IF the Rangers match, how to they pay Miller?

If the Habs were healthy this season they will likely in the 16-20 range in the standing, not at 28.

Drury will likely sign Miller and Chytil before signing Laffy, they were priorities for him before Laffy. Also, don't forget he will likely extend Tarasenko, maybe Kane.

And about the 4.3M, I didn't know this information, but I know than if this happen, they will not match.

Up to 4.3m cost a second rounder. There are RFA offer sheet compensation posts on line
