Cat can take his 1 x $9,000,000 QO and be done with it. No way is he taking no 2 x $8,500,000 offer from Ottawa. It's either in the 8 x $9,000,000 range or his 1 x $9,000,000 QO and be done with it. Nothing in between.
I also don't think that ANYONE gives him 7x $9M AAV, regardless of whether his QO is $9M. If it comes to RFA and shopping around, I don't think the Sens match anything $8M AAV and up - but I don't think he'll get anyone to offer it either.

All incorrect. Front load it on Y1 above QO to incentivize two year deal. Sens do not want to commit any longer than that. Done.
I completely agree that the Sens shouldn't (almost can't) sign him long-term unless the cap goes up significantly.
I don't think there's any way that he agrees to 2 years unless it's for at least $9.5M AAV, likely more than $10M.
If Debrincat wants to maximize $$ after a bad season this year, he signs his QO and hits FA in summer 2024. If he wanted security he could have signed an extension any time this season, so I expect he'll not sign an extension, Sens offer QO, then he starts talking to other teams and we end up with one of 3 scenarios:
1. Debrincat plays for the QO of $9M (will likely happen if no teams meet his salary demands - could lead to a deadline trade next season)
2. A team makes an offer sheet and Sens don't match
3. Debrincat is traded with long-term extension
