Yzerman is big on character so I seriously doubt he brings Kuznetsov to Detroit. Kuznetsov is on the wrong side of 30 and still suspended from international play.

Hard pass on paying for Kuznetsov. He'll be 31 to start next season, with 2 years left on his 7.8M contract. His play is declining and his character is questionable.

I'd say refusing to believe in science is bad enough, but refusing to believe in science when it means you aren't available to play is worse than recreational drug use.

Kuznetsov has negative value right now with his massive contract, so either you can eat $3.6 million and get a prospect and a 1st and 2nd or you can pay $15.6 million for a 50 point player. Your choice.

Are you really comparing not Vaxing to cocaine use? Bertuzzi not wanting to vax is isn't illegal. Now individual states can pass legislation requiring vaccination but even then the most likely form of punishment will be a fine or tax penalty. But so far no one has been fined for not getting a COVID vaccination. Cocaine is a schedule 1 narcotic in the US and a felony in most states. Aside from the jail time court costs and fines, some of the rights you can or will lose as a convicted felon are voting, traveling abroad, the right to bear arms or own guns, jury service and employment in certain fields. Now Bertuzzi couldn't go to Canada for a season and that hardly compares to the chance of becoming a felon.

Yeah, I shared my opinion on "character concerns" and stand by it.

Being caught with cocaine, which is illegal and not wanting to get a shot which is not illegal ate far two different things. Might not be good but you are comparing apples and oranges.

Even aside from your laughable, strawman, troll-level comparison, is Bertuzzi still here? Conversation over.

Wow. Science is not full proof, nothing is. Science once believed the earth was flat, that the earth was the center of the solar system, and the Thylidamide was good for pregnant woman to ease the preganancy.
Was the shot good, of course, but there seem to be side effects in some people and not knowing Bertuzzzi's medical history or his situation, I can not compare the two.

I take it if a player was an abuser or worse a killer the same would hold true?

I get to decide what I feel "character concerns" are.

To me deciding to miss games to go full MAGA is worse than using cocaine.

That's my opinion

Now, Kuznetsov is one of the most overrated players in the NHL, is aging and expensive, a player Detroit should stay clear of I'd you'd like hockey reasons to avoid him

It doesn't matter if Bertuzzi had character issues (which I agree with you that he did), it doesn't invalidate Kuznetsov's character issues, that's the point.

Also, the hockey reasons to avoid him alone are enough, so can we just all agree it's not a fit, regardless of reasons and move on?

So you want to criminalize not getting the covid shot or want to legalize cocaine?

That is the crux of your argument, correct?

No I don't. I was talking about the phrase character concerns and not the legal system.

A player ditching his teammates to not take a vaccine is worse to me than using cocaine. That's my opinion. To me there are plenty of legal things that are worse than some illegal things
