I mean, Minnesota has well know cap issues, no way they could do this even if they wanted to

If a deal is with Minnesota, a player with a similar salary would have to come back to the Caps, like Zuc, otherwise it won't work for them.

The Kuz deal is the only trade here that interests Washington, and even then it's not feasible for Minnesota in it's current state.

The Mantha deal helps no-one and Kassian has horrifying play, no chance he'd get playing time in Washington.

That Dowd deal is laughably bad, especially when there is 0 incentive to trade him instead of playing him with Protas on the 4th line.

The Wilson deal is similarly laughable, two mid-tier prospects and a 3rd is nowhere close to his value.

The contracts to Fehervary, Bjugstad, and Nosek are either unnecessary in the case of Bjug and Nosek, or large overpays in the case of Fehervary.

Is this team supposed to contend or tank? With the offense you've constructed with Aube-Kubel as a 2nd liner, you'd think this is a tanking team but the defense and goaltending is certainly that of a team looking to contend, so all this seems to me is making pointless trades for the sake of making stupid trades.
