To be fair, hes been really good at BU, but horribly advised before that and lost 2 years of development. He still looks good but is 23. problem is hes a center, which PHI lacks and the 2nd is compensation is so late round, so it makes it iffy. If OBrien was 21, they'd sign him no problem.

I think these are actually the type of players they target in FA, maybe not Schenn and Dumba, but the others make perfect sense for what they need. Unfortunately this still doesn't put them anywhere close to being a playoff team without a couple of good drafts.

Maybe, but a healthy Couturier and Atkinson, along with Foerester and Brink (thats 3 top 6 forwards they didn;t have this year) and a better mix on defense goes a long ways

1st Leafs aren’t moving Niemela unless they’re getting a legit top D back. He’s our best defensive prospect by a mile.

2nd why is Avs selling? They have Mac, Rantanen and Landedkog, Makar, Byram etc. They’re competing for Stanley cups.
