This basically gives them the signing rights for the summer at no real cost, while letting him play a few games to see how much he is really worth.

I think a LOT of people are voting this no, because they don't know how contracts like this work and they think he will be getting just over $2 million next year.

really hoping we eventually get an NCAA signing that occurs on the last day of the regular season so the cap hit is 18 million dollars.

It happened once where a player had a cap hit of $17 million. I heard about it on the Steve Dangle Podcast, but I can't remember the name.

Great signing by the Canucks. I too, was expecting Livinstone but another 'free' left handed prospect is decent. I had Hirose at #11 on my NCAA FA list.
