The most unlikely scenario of all...PLD stays lol! 😂

I realize this is VERY unlikely so this is mainly just for fun.

I will say, I like the looks of this team though.

Probably a fair price for Pionk. If I am Yzerman I accept that trade. Detroit has nobody to play RD behind Seider right now and the free agent class is pretty weak this year.

Not going to lie, I think WPG could be in for the rebuild of a life time if they play their cards right. They could easily have 5-6 1st round picks in the next couple drafts if they wanted to but the last thing they should do is try to keep this dog and pony show going. Start with pending free agents alone and you'll be stacked in the picks and prospects dept.

    Detroit gladly accepts.

Pierre-Luc Dubois in 7 season has one 60 and 61 point season. 8 x $9,500,000 seems very excessive for him.

It's probably the right way to roll, but can Winnipeg afford to ice a horrible team for the next 4-5 years? Gotta keep those seats full...

Not in love with Pionk, but the fit and deal do make sense...

Oh because Winnipeg has so many other winter sports to watch, right? Winnipeg will fill no problem, even during a rebuild. What they won't stand for, is a wannabe playoff team trying to make it when everyone knows they won't.

I mean, I may be missing something here (it's quite possible), but they're not even selling out this season...and that's with a team that's been in the thick of a playoff hunt all year.

Again, not saying that it's not the right long term idea when it comes to roster construction, but you start selling/letting those guys loose, and this team is going to be bad for a lonnnnng time.

I don't disagree at all! I mainly made this post after listening to what Dregger had to say today that WPG has no appetite for a rebuild...even though as a fan I am more so leaning the other way.
