1-Fantilli
2-Cooley
3-Knies

Man, I know it's not going to happen (and neither is Bedard), but the Ducks getting Fantilli would be such a perfect thing...

Bedard fits better with what the Ducks are known for IMO (flashy plays)

Odd choices. I mean if Hutson isn't a finalist then the winner will be Fantilli and it's not even close

So deserving in fact that he doesn't appear as a finalist

Fantilli, Cooley, Knies. Hutson should be on this list instead of Knies. Just more motivation for Hutson (and BU) to beat the Gophers I guess.

clearly Knies is better, he went farther in the process. Habs fans seem ok with that like of thinking usually.

i think you misunderstood what i'm saying. just seems weird to have to linemate for the trophy.

Knies wasn’t even the second best player on his own team all the people who voted him are leafs fans who have no knowledge on the NCAA at all

IDK about not even 2nd best on his team being a guarantee. Yes Snuggerud scored more points, but there's more to hockey than points. No doubt, he shouldn't be a finalist, but Knies has played VERY well. To your point though...to be a finalist for the Hobey Baker and arguably be the 3rd best player on YOUR LINE...tough for Hutson. And also all the more reason this is a walk away win for Fantilli.

I don't watch a lot of NCAA but I did see Cooley at WJs and see Knies' characteristics and can see how he became a finalist for the Hobey Baker award. The example I'll use is: Does Kucherov make himself known is one of the top players in the league during the 2018-19 season if he isn't playing with Stamkos? No. Is he still a very good player but goes into that Zibby type tier where he's really good but gets overlooked? Yes.
IMO, Cooley is Kucherov, Knies is Stamkos in this example, that's all.

yeah, i agree. its hard to comment on subject like this without people thinking you want to bring knies down as a player. i just feel there could have been a better choice, not mostly cause of his abilities, its still a subjectice award after all, but its weird to put. linemate together in the top 3. and its not like it was an obvious choice that knies is so much better than the other finalist too.

Please explain , if you meant to say Brian Leetch I get the point. There is no comparison to Bobby Orr.

CANDIDATES MUST:

• Exhibit strength and character, both on and off the ice
• Contribute to the integrity of the team
• Display outstanding skills in all phases of the game
• Show scholastic achievement and sportsmanship

Knies seems out of place but he could be the epitome of all these for all I know.
I can't help but see his numbers being dwarfed by the other candidates however.
