Dont think Clifford has any value, (and not to Philly), why would someone even take on the contract space for that deal? I mean the difference of 4-5 draft slots in the 6th/7th round is meh, but who would want clifford, hes barely been an NHLer to 2 years now.
And you're not getting out of the final year of Murray's deal and getting value back, I doubt a 5th and 6th with Murray is enough to dump him, let alone someone giving you a better 6th and a player.
And if Muzzin is healthy enough to play, he plays in TOR. If hes not going to play you keep him on LTIR, because its irrelevant and you'd have to give someone something to take his cap hit.
Woll is a weak backup, gustaffson and timmins play pretty bad defense, kampf will want more than that, thats alot of faith that robertson can play, produce, say healthy, but really its a pretty toothless bottom 6 forwards offensively, good top 6 though.
And after all that you've got about 35mil in cap space in 24-25 with samsonov, liljegren, giordano, brodie, lafferty, boyd, robertson, matthews and nylander all UFAs/RFAs, so even conservatively:
Liljegren 2mil
Knies 900k
Robertson 1.3mil
Samsonov 3.2mil
Matthews 13.5mil
Nylander 10mil
doesn;t leave much for a top 4 dman (to replace brodie), a third pairing dman or 7th, and a 4th liner, or improving on whats there, weak at best and with so few picks theres not alot of wiggle room with the critical developing players on ELC or ability to trade for improvement. Every prospect would have to "hit" or this team is looking weaker in 24-25 and moving forward.
