Another year in Rochester wouldn't hurt him and he can then come up with Raanta and Comrie only on 1yr deals.

See how season finishes for UPL. Thought he was great last night. Hoping he’s turning corner but get your idea

Think he would take that goal on the Face Off back, but I agree he made some big saves last night. We don't win that game without him playing like he did.

I think bump Raanta up a mill and he'll probably want 2 years.

The Pens current right-handed-dmen: Letang, Petry, Rutta, Ruhwedel and Friedman.

Tell me, where does Jokiharju fit? Why do Buffalo fans keep sending him to us?

Well Dumolin is a UFA and Joker is better than Chad, and the Other 2 play LD.

Doesn't matter if he's better than Chad. There's no space financially or roster-wise. Rutta (currently injured) is our 3rd pair, not Chad. Chad is our #8. Rutta makes $2.75 to play the 3rd pair, so we're not going to acquire a #7 dman who costs $2.5M. It doesn't make any sense.

I recommend really looking at a team's roster. This trade makes zero sense for the Pens in any way shape or form.

OK, next time I will look at your old ass roster and maybe not think you could use a young cost controlled RD for the future.

Your response is just purely stubborn. You're wrong and can't admit you're wrong. Doesn't matter if Jokiharju young. There's simply no room in the roster. I'm not sure how you can't see that. He is also overpaid by about $1M and he's not better than any of the RHD's in our top six of Letang, Petry and Rutta. If you think it's important to have a cost-controlled RD for the future, then keep him.

You have 5 defenseman that are 32 or older. You only have 3 or 4 signed past next year. How is he overpaid, he plays about 23 to 25 min a night, sure maybe cut his minutes down a bit. I am not being stubborn, was just actually looking at your future.

You're not seeing reality. This is not a video game. There are roster limits. There are salary caps and there is asset management. Can you not see how paying SIX RHD's is TERRIBLE asset management and paying FOUR of them over $2M is unheard of?

Let's also talk brass tax... while we may have some defense issues, Buffalo has an ATROCIOUS defense. ATROCIOUS. Defense and goaltending is why you're not in a playoff spot. If he's that good and cost-controlled you should NOT be giving him away.

If you think basing him being overpaid on how many minutes he plays, then you have a lot to learn about hockey. He's not a very good dman. He's an OK third pairing dman. He's playing those kind of minutes because you have no better options and again, Buffalo has bad defense, so if he's one of your mainstays then that should tell you something.

Dude it's a 2024 3rd, and no **** there's roster limits and your team is going to have to make some hard decisions coming shortly. Buffalo is a run and gun team, and it goes more than just your D being bad when your young Forwards don't buy into playing Defense all the time. Have No problem trying a Different team. Good luck the rest of the year.

It's not about the return. It's about the trade making sense, which it doesn't in any way for the Pens.

You're clearly very young and new-ish to hockey. Asset management is something you need to understand better.

I have played or watched hockey for over 50yrs, and I understand asset management, especially trying to get younger when I have a old Ass D

Well you have a very poor understanding of asset management. It doesn't matter if I'd like the team to get younger. What your proposing is not the way the Pens would need to go about it. You're telling us pay at least one player $2.5M+ to sit every night. That's an example of bad asset management which you clearly don't understand, nor do you have any understanding of hockey.

Why is he sitting, you have Pettersson Joseph Ruutu at LD Letang Petry Joker as your RD with Chad as your 7th. Friedman is on Emergency callup so he disappears next year. Dumo is of your books.

Ruuta is a RD dude. Pens have 5 right shot D signed next season so this trade is useless to them.

Does he not play LD to, and again Friedman is on Emergency loan. That's fine, like I told the other guy it can be a different team. And again you only have 4 D signed after next year. Thought process was the future for you guys.

Funny how I see many Pittsburgh fans getting rid of Pettersson Ruutu Petry in their AGM's.

I'd be angry if I was getting Joker in a trade too, 36.

I think you should do a Nadeau for Korczak trade.
