I've never seen a trade of a 7th for futures
This is more of a 'What will David Poile do?'
His last draft, in Nashville, He has never had the #1 pick, the pick plays for Barry Trotz's old team, Poile has an UNGODLY amount of ammo.
I am assuming a deal where the picks are chalk. NSH #14 -> Van -> #8 -> SJ ->#2 (Would Poile have enough for #1? I'll be honest, I'd rather have Fantilli than Beddard.)
But, Poile, last draft, #1 pick, in Nashville, nickname 'trader Dave'. We shall see.
As for the 7th. I would love to see Poile pull a 'Taro Tsujimoto' before he leaves. Trade for the absolutely last pick in the draft and pick a fictional player. What consequences would he face? Fired? He's leaving. I would love it for the Draft experts to scramble as Poile goes 'Duces, I'mma out!' Unprofessional as hell? Yup, but there is no professionalism on a Florida beach...where Poile is going to be a Florida Man.
SJ's RHD depth is crap and Nashville has too many. Vancouver is over the cap. I project the cap to go to 84 million and Vancouver is already over that. for 2023-2024. the 6th round trade is to add picks to 2024.
Poile was in conversations with Vancouver and SJ during the trade deadline. Just an idea for the haters to hate.
EDIT: As for Livingstone, That is how much he is making pro-rated now.
