Troy Terry might not want to re-sign in Anaheim if they don’t get Bedard. There is probably another 3-4yrs of rebuilding if they don’t get him.

I love reading a Leaf opinion.
It is curios how often their opinions will mirror mine while it is difficult for me to find Sabre fans who think as I do.

...But with the Atlantic division looking to change a lot next year...Boston will have about $10,000,000 cap to find replacements for Bergeron, Krejci, Bertuzzi and three other players. Hard to imagine them competing with so little cap space. adding a couple vets on a short term deal that can play 200 feet and mentor those kids may have more milage here than a stay the course approach One may think Okposo and Girgensons could be the VETS! What would you think of Orlov as a stop gap RHD to play with Power?...... I would be more than happy with a Levi-Lukonnen tandem going into 23-24 Yup, so many are ready to move on from Luukkonen.

Well, the Sabres have 4 lines that can produce offensively at different levels Excellent point, in past years, the third line was not as productive as this years fourth line....Adding a RD that can both play with Power AND push Jokiharju (I am not giving uo on him yet So many other Sabre fans are throwing Henri under bus while forgetting that he is only 23 and he is not Dahlin.) is part of the answer imo.
Part 2 is rounding out the 3rd like with a couple 200 foot players ...to go with Krebs..... maybe Greenway is one of them Yup and if any one watched the Wings game last night Casey is turning into that 200 ft player Mittelstadt-Jost-Greenway
Part 3 is a 4th line that can hit and defend while chipping in ...That could be Greenway instead on the third line with Krebs and Girgensons.
... improve an almost NHL worst PK and improve 5v5 defensive play... The PK needs a better coach, the defenders are to passive staying in the box and not challenging the attackers.
Just adding a few thoughts, but nice to read your assessment.
The Sabres could add a FO coach that would immidiately improve the PK and 5 v 5 defense.

I would think we would need to add another great piece in place of UPL in that Terry trade. Something like Nadeau or Johnson

Glad you appreciate it.

Frankly, the Sabres are the team that scares me the most. Talent and cap space. Could be so dangerous if Adam's make the right moves.

He made terrible decisions his first months as GM.
He got smart when Karmanos was hired as Associate GM helping him with UFA's and trades.
Jerry Forton tells him who to draft.
Ventura is the analytics genious.
Crowe is the Professional scout guru.
So if you want to give him credit for getting smart people around him that is true.
Well it is true.
Leaf fans actually watch hockey, Buffalo fans read about it.
So do you think Orlov would be a good stop gap addition as a UFA to be an on ice mentor?

Orlov, if the term and money is right, could be a great pick up.

Like the Leafs lol, the Sabres organizational depth on the blueline is thin. Johnson and then......

Grabbing Orlov for 3 × 6 million would be shrewd. Gives Adams time to fill out the back end a little with young talent. Playing him with Power would make make a nasty pairing. Both play a very good transitional game and play with a bit of edge. Games or so similar Owen could learn so much.

If it isn't Orlov, taking a long look at Connor Clifton is option B. Only 27, seriously underrated, and can play both sides. I really feel out of the UFA class on D this year he gets the most attention - see a 5-6 year term at around $3.5 million. Very cost effective for what he does defensively.
