Sorry, I disagree, we are overloaded on LHD so much so that we have Harris playing RD. Over the next year or two we are going to have to find new homes for 4-5 LHD. Guhle, Matheson and Xhekaj are taking the top 3 LD spots next year with Harris, Savard and Barron likely holding the RD spots and Kovacevic is likely our 7th D. That means we need to move Eddy and Wideman off the roster. The year after we are going to need to find somewhere for Engstrom, Hutson, Mailloux and Struble if they are NHL ready. We simply have too many good D prospects especially on the left side to be trading for another LHD.

Brannstrom will sign for about a million while Pinto will sign for 3 million.

As for DeBrincat, it's either his QO or an 8 year extension imo.

It doesn't, we already have Edmundson, Harris, Guhle and Xhekaj at the NHL level and Engstrom, Struble, Leskinen and Fairbrother at the AHL level (for callups) who are all LHD that can comfortably play the right side. If you are keeping track that is 9 NHL defensemen including Matheson, Savard, Barron and Wideman fighting for 7 spots and that is without including Engstrom, Struble, Maiilloux or Hutson in the next year or so. Therefore we need to be looking at trading some of these "depth" (I use that term loosely) LHD to strengthen other areas of the lineup.

Dorion would just solidify his legacy as one of the worst GMs of all time (1 step forward 2 steps back GM) if he trades Erik Brannstrom like that

Erik Brannstrom is GOOD at hockey

I'd be looking at someone like Joshua Roy if I was trading Brannstrom to the Habs. Not Jake Allen lol

We had Forsberg & Gustavsson with Sogaard and Merilainen developing before Dorion ****ed it up (again). Now that he realizes (probably not) than Cam Talbot is not the solution to fix his organizational mess (what is 2-way hockey?), there's a big hole to assist Forsberg as the 2 young goalies are not ready (of course)

Allen is NOT the solution and I'm not trading Brannstrom. Enough Dorion damage, he has done that for 6 years now.

Why do people talk with such insurance about their own ignorance? One of the things I have always found the most ridiculous in life.

Oh I wasn't saying Allen was the solution, I didn't even comment on that cause I don't see the Sens looking at him. I was just commenting that from a Habs perspective trading for another good young LHD makes no sense (actually any D at all since we have so many who can also play the right side. Everyone knows MB's philosophy was always "you can't have too many D")

Someones going to offer sheet brainstorm if we only offer him 1m. 2 years for ADB works best for everyone imo

Habs have an over abundance of Dmen already. This trade makes no sense for the Habs.
