That’s a whole lot of nothing for a solid top 6 winger

thats fair. I think if you put Joseph in that same role he might be able to replicate some of the production though was my logic

I get the impression that they're a goaltender away from being in the thick of things next year. Forsberg and Sogaard just aren't gonna do it. Team defense isn't good enough to really do it, so they need a goalie who can steal games. The problem is that there just aren't any available. Maybe make some kind of interesting trade with Pittsburgh for Jarry, or at least the rights to him. Maybe move Forsberg and a pick for Jarry's rights.

brannstrom isn't nothing. Also the Sens main issue has actually been finishing. Part of that is system, another part is not having enough bottom six depth when we pretty lost Norris for the entire season. Honestly I would argue improving forward depth and coaching is more of a priority than upgrading goaltending.

Goaltending is Ottawas biggest need but with little to no cap it’s going to be hard to find and the best option they had was traded for 1 injury riddled year of Talbot.

i like gus but to think he would be doing what he is doing this year, in Ottawa, is definitely hindsight bias

yeah it seemed like minnesota were the ones selling low at the time, gus has thrived behind their defensive structure though. good for him, always like him here
