The upside here is that, even without a top 2 pick, we are almost guaranteed to get a very good future NHLer wherever our pick lands. But, now more than ever, I hope KD finds a way to acquire an additional 1st round pick that is earlier than the Tampa pick. Also, I hope the Rangers make the ECF and their 2nd upgrades to a 2024 1st. Three first round picks 3 years in a row, will be a great start to the rebuild even if we don't end up with a generational talent.

If these are the best possible returns, I would probably do all in the end. In a perfect world, drop both 3rd's out of the Bailey trade, take Katchouk out of the Islanders trade and throw him to the Murphy deal to make one of those 2nds a first. Bailey and Mantha dumps should both be a straight 2nd round pick with no othere muss or fuss involved. Murphy should be a 1st plus a little something else (retain some on Murphy if you have to to make that return happen).
