Too much term but Gaudreau has been a solid complimentary player on Minnesota, he’ll be a good 3c for them

Calle Jarnkrok deal. I like it for the Wild, Gaudreau has been a really great player and provides this cap strapped team with some cost controlled depth for many years. Even if Gaudreau does sour, the cap hit is so miniscule that it really doesn't matter. Way to go Guerin

I really like the deal for the next few years.
Last 1-2 years might not be great, but you never know.
Good signing for now

They could have gotten double this and it still would have been a good deal.

It's long, but it's cheap. Because of that, there's actually very little risk here.

The only comparable I can come up with is Nic Paul (similar PPG) who signed 7x$3M at 27 y.o. on another team with cap problems. Too long, but very capfriendly AAV.

UFA market would had been more profitable for him, but he's obviously comited to this team. He will also be able to have top 6 opportunities which would be more difficult on another team with more depth.

Everybody wins!

Yes, 5 years is a bit much but at $2.1m?! I'd be very happy with this if I were the Wild! Good deal.
