Description

Is it safe to say now that after that horrible appearance by Blackwood tonight and for Schmid to come in relief and stop all 18 shots and help us win, that Blackwood will not be qualified this summer? I’ve always like Blackwood and thought he would be the goalie to lead us to the playoffs but injury after injury and no consistency in net, just isn’t gonna get it done. Let me know what you guys think will happen with Blackwood this summer.

It isn't, but that's because hockey players are obsessed with adding a Y to the end of everyone's name to create a nickname. Plus Woody is already taken lol

The Devils cannot justify having Blackwood on the playoff roster over Schmid.

I get for the regular season they were worried about depth and couldn't send down blackwood without a waiver claim but if he starts a playoff game I'm gonna riot

I guess the good thing is Schmid has taken a step. Last year watching Schmid play I thought he was just an AHL goalie. But this year he took a step and is a legit NHL backup right now that could become a starter. Yes I know the team has gotten better defensively as well, but watching Schmid play this year, in every game he played I thought, " yeah, this guy can get us 2 points tonight. " Unfortunately for Blackwood, I don't think or see a reason why we should qualify him. Just let him walk and use that money somewhere else.
