This offseason doesn't look very big to me.

Don't see TOR or BUF doing those deals.

Brodie is literally their best defensive defenseman, and Mittelstadt broke out this year with 57 points..

I think about moving Mittelstadt for Hronek. That’s the kind of deal Vancouver has to be prepared to make.

Leafs don't need Garland and Brodie doesn't waive. Sabres keep the cost efficient and improving Mitts.

Garland is a cap dump, unless a first is going the other way, Vancouver is stuck with that contract. Leafs easily pass

I hate to lose Mitts but if i have to prefer upgrade like Pesce or longer term with Carlo. Hronek good. Just think theyre better and hate to lose Mitts

Canucks were trying to trade Garland during the weeks heading into the deadline. No one was taking Garland for free

That’s just not true. They were more focused on moving Miller/Boeser/Schenn. Garland would be a great Bunting replacement for the Leafs if he prices himself out of Toronto. Canucks should keep him though

How is it not true if it was reported? An insider reported that Garland would either get traded or bought out in the offseason

As for Bunting replacement, Garland wouldn't go anywhere near our top 9. Easy pass from the Leafs

First, ZErO chance Leafs move Brodie. But your argument re. Garland as a replacement for Bunting makes no sense either. Leafs can’t afford Garland’s full cap hit (& term) as it is; and they aren’t giving up any assets for him. if Bunting wants Garland money - he’ll have to get it somewhere else. We’ll target a more cost effective FA winger

Garland is the 139th highest paid forward this year. Garland is the 176th in point per game. Now I know stats don't tell everything, but 4.9 team can spend their cap elsewhere and not give up anything.
Now I like your thought, or exchanging even money for even money, so there might be a fit with some team. But even at Garland's 3 years remaining can be seen as iffy value, especially if a team has to trade a good assets of rhim. By the way Garland and Bunting have very similar stats this season. We'll see what Bunting gets as UFA.

Garland never really fit into Boudreau’s system. Under Tocchet he had 24 points in 36 games. Also last season he was elite at 5v5

Garland easily goes into your top 6. He’s better than every Leafs winger not named Marner and Nylander

Not even close. Mittelstadt isn’t worth remotely close to a 17-18OA pick along with the ~40OA

Well you’re sure as hell not getting him for Beauvillier, so that’s probably the end of the conversation.
