How are Habs fans feeling after Florida went from like 10th overall pick to 30th overall. I remember when people were making hypotheticals that the Habs win 1st and 2nd overall with the Panther's pick

It would have been nice, but it was an unexpected bonus to have Florida out of the playoff picture anyway, so nothing really lost.
Having them beat Boston and (likely) Toronto, is a different story. NOW it feels like we are losing something.

The deal was legal, everyone was doing it, only we got punished. Deputy Commissioner at the time even said we were scapegoats.

But the fact that we could simultaneously...

1.) Pay Kovalchuk's retirement recapture penalty
2.) Play NHL games against Kovalchuk

....shows the injustice.

We deserve our #9 pick back.

I feel like the skill depth drop from 17-29 is worth seeing the leafs lose, at least IMO

the toll of hockey on the body, It's not an unrealistic chance he retires soon, missing 2 full seasons is no joke, it takes some very serious injuries for that

For a first and prospect and I still want him gone. We aren’t trading him for a couple of picks. He is the best center on the market
