With only 5 forwards signed through next season, you can be sure Joe Sakic will have a very busy summer. Bo Byram also needs a contract and it'll be interesting to see if they lock him up long term or bridge him. They will pick up $6M in cap space w/ Erik Johnson's contract expired. Regardless of what happens w/ Val, I think we're likely to see a bunch of new faces in Colorado next season.

Without knowing who is on market…I would say Elias Lindholm is the best name I have seen in speculation.

No doubt, this is an interesting hire. I'm willing to see it play out, I don't think you can really judge him yet because he's never not been in this position before as far as i'm aware. I've always enjoyed him on the broadcast.

What I do enjoy about this is he already knows the team after being around it so often for the last bajillion years. So he doesn't have to get use to the players and that feels like an advantage for getting the ground running.
