Hypothetical scanario: Kyle Davidson thinks he's Peter Chiarelli and wants to trade the first overall pick in in a 1-for-1 trade. Whicih players in the league are off-limits and which players would the Hawks accept straight up?

I think the only off-limits player is McDavid, and Chicago would at least strongly consider Draisaitl, Makar, Matthews, and M. Tkachuk.

I guess an alternate way of phrasing the question is: Which players currently in the NHL have MORE trade value than Connor Bedard?

Would trade Bedard for, in any scenario…
1. McDavid
2. Makar
3. Hughes
4. Tkachuk
5. Pettersson
6. Dahlin
7. Stutzle

Could make a case either way based on situation…
8. MacKinnon
9. Heiskanen
10. Fox
11. Pastrnak
12. Robertson
13. Hischier
14. Point
15. Connor

If they had more term
16. Matthews
17. Draisaitl

(Probably a couple others I am forgetting)

…so not many. He is amazingly high up the value ladder for an undrafted prospect.

Ben Gaudreau apparently will not sign with SJ and re-enter the draft . He was picked 81st overall but SJ in 2021 and he’s looked like a solid goalie prospect, I’d imagine a team will pick him and and sign him

Him and the Yes Campaign have been shilling extremely hard for the vote to pass; I'd be surprised if it doesn't.

Hoping it doesn't because it would be extremely funny. Would love to see that press conference from Bettman.

Lebrun lists the seven candidates for Penguins GM as:

Marc Bergevin (Kings)
Eric Tulsky (Hurricanes)
Peter Chiarelli (Blues)
Jason Karmanos (Sabres)
Dan MacKinnon (Devils)
Kate Madigan (Devils)
Meghan Duggan (Devils)

Should this smell fishy? Must be one of those “interviews” where they ask all sorts of detailed questions about how a rival organization is run. Lol.

Madigan will probably be a GM someday but is a little green now. Duggan doesn’t have huge responsibility on hockey ops…she is fairly new as well. But Dan MacKinnon is a workhorse with deep Penguin ties. Imagine he is a front runner.

With the Coyotes likely heading to Houston, I wanted to dig up one of my favourite jersey concepts from a while ago. Credit to Dunkel designs for this beauty. If the Yotes do go to Houston and these are their jerseys, they may have the single best jersey history of all the franchises. Going from those old school Jets jerseys to the Kachinas and then to this would be unreal.

To pay homage to how much I love this jersey (and logo), I spent may too long making a mock-up of the 2023 / 24 Houston Aeros on Capfriendly, logo and everything. Enjoy

1. Houston
2. Kansas City
3. Atlanta (I know but apparently there is group of 3 billionaires wanting them)

If it is true that the coyotes spent less than $250,000 towards political support and campaigning for the arena vote one of two things is true and one of two things should happen.

Either the owners have no business owning a sports team and it should be taken from them instantly, with no recourse.

Or this whole saga has been intentional and is a fraudulent waste of taxpayer money.

I have serious concerns over the whole leagues financial health if less than $250,000 was spent to campaign and lobby for a project in the hundreds of millions.

I think the world is about to find out many of the wealthy are actually holding more debt than money exists, and interruptions to cash flow due to coronavirus broke the scheme.

It’s time for cities to take the franchises and the buildings for themselves.

Yeah, Houston’s getting a team most likely, or, Bettman will force the owners to sell and whoever pays the most money gets to have their relocation go through

Loving the result simply because it's a big finger to Bettman

Adding a quote from Gentille:

Quote:
The most important part of the statements coming out of Tuesday’s referendum, from both the team and the NHL, is what was left unsaid. There have been plenty of pivot points for the Coyotes over the last two decades, and plenty of official releases from the major stakeholders.

They’ve always contained some variation on the phrase, “our focus remains on securing a future for the franchise in Arizona.” This time, its absence is conspicuous.

I don’t want Atlanta to get the team, BUT, if they do get a team, judging by what happened to the last 2 teams, they’ll probably end up in Saskatoon in a few years. Which I would obviously like very much.
