So what’s the latest on GMs?

Dubas now to Ottawa?
Tulsky to Pittsburgh?

I mean, Dorion is still Ottawa GM last I checked, he's not even fired, let's not count our chickens before they hatch

Some interesting names could be free agents at 5pm

I liked Huckins and Krebs coming out of the draft, kind of surprised to see them both potentially walk. Not sure of Calgary’s situation, but Washington could have stood to keep Krebs on the left side for Hershey, assuming he signs elsewhere and doesn’t stay on an AHL deal (like Bear Hughes last year)

Is this the off season of the goaltender?

Rumored available:

Hart
Hellebuiyk
Demko
A devils goalie
A Flames goalie
Maybe Swayman
Saros
Binnington

It is a good time to be a team who needs a goaltender. It is not as good of a time for teams who want to trade them unless they have the cream of the crop.

Guys that I expect to be signed or given try-outs….
- Puistola is the name that sticks out to me.
- Gaudreau (man, his star has fallen)
- Roulette, Huckins. Gilmartin.
- Few big dmen (Montgomery, Roger, Jordan, Romero)

I doubt this many move. Briere said Hart unlikely. Hellebuyck probably stays and moves as UFA. Demko (?). The Devils goalie is Blackwood. Flames goalie is Vladar. Neither of those guys are locks for NHL roster. Saros and Binnington, I think, are also unlikely. Swayman is probably the best option.

What about Matt Murray? Maybe the Leafs can send him to Chicago in a similar deal to Mrazek. Murray should cost less to dump because Murray costs less than a million more and Murray's contract only has 1 year left as opposed to the 2 on Mrazek's at the time of the trade.

So in net, the Puljujarvi trade was for nothing.

It’ll be interesting to see him in a President role, with his comments about his family it might be a better fit.

It was 3 mil in cap space that allowed them to make moves at the TDL, but I suppose that is true so yes

I figured they had shot at signing Puistola…didn’t know he was already under contract.

Excited to see Dubas in Pittsburgh. As someone who typically watches a lot of Pens games, last season was rough to say the least. Curious to see who he brings in as GM. Tulsky? Pridham? Exciting times in Pittsburgh

Believe Gaudreau is re-entering the draft, no? Or am I confusing him with another Sharks goalie?

You're correct. Fun fact, Ben Gaudreau's mother and I had the same copy of Macbeth in high school

I've been waiting for an opportunity to mention that

Yes...but its been 5 years since a re-enter was selected...so probably not promising.

Based on AGMs, Leafs fans seem to think Murray to Chicago is all but official, but I don't see it happening. Hawks would likely have to buyout one of Mrazek or Murray since Commesso is turning pro and they likely don't want to carry 3 goalie prospects in Rockford. Davidson has pretty much all but said the second goalie spot in Chicago is Soderblom's to lose.

College free agents rarely play in the NHL within their first year. Hes waiver exempt so will probs go play with the Hogs. Mrazek/Murray can be Chicago's tandem giving the kids more development time

As why put a young goalie in a ****ty situation.
