As much as I love the Leddy trade, the Blues will not be taking any of those three players in the draft.

They do have THREE! First-rounders which in this draft is crazy, but I just simulated Tankathon and got those three, they would probably target some centres/defence in the first round then a goalie later right?

Center and D, yes. Not small wingers and D-men who are terrible defensively.

Goalie, zero chance so high. They are stocked at goalie. Maybe a later round pick, if anything.

I disagree, there might not be a center available at 10 and they won't reach. Cristall is possibly the best player available there and Dragicevic could be a late first rounder, he isn't my ideal choice though

Flyers are not doing that.

Leddy has too high of a cap hit and they're rebuilding... They aren't gonna pay for a 32 Year old making 4m

I’m not sure if taking 3 of the lowest floor high ceiling players in the top 40 of the draft is the best decision.

Would like a more for sure pick at 10. Like Reinbacher, Moore, Leonard, Smith, Danielson. Even Barlow or really reaching for Simashev makes more sense than Cristall for the Blues.

Do you think they strip it down or go like the Blues and sell expiring parts? If they strip it down, Leddy is exactly the kind of player you take. 4M isn’t a huge number and you might do better than a 6 as the sweetener

They're gonna sell Players O-26/25 (Hayes, Provy or Sanheim, TDA, Potentially Laughton, and Risto)

You make them pay you to take Leddy, otherwise you sign FA's who on 1 year deal whoa re trying to prove themselves in hopes to flip them at the deadline to retrieve more assets. Besides the Flyers have depth on the Left side with young players. York has already made the jump and Zamula + Andrae will look to make the jump soon.

If not a C, then perhaps Reinbacher. That said, I'm pretty confident a C will be available at 10. As for Cristall, he's not a need and I think some folks are overrating him a little. As for Dragicevic, he is the absolute last thing we need. He's exactly the kind of play we're trying to get away from. And Chief would strangle him inside an hour. There will be plenty of solid two-way LDs available in that range.

I also don't think Army sees their picks as reaches, even when others say they are. Snuggerud was supposedly a reach until he quickly wasn't. Bolduc was supposedly a reach. And of course, we've made picks everyone loved who didn't pan out. There's a center or two or three that people might consider reaches at 10 that will probably be fine picks. Especially Danielson. Some pundits have him as high as 5, so it's all in the eye.

Snuggerud was ranked as high as 8th predraft and Bolduc was selected pretty much where he was ranked. Neither were reaches imo. You have to draft on best player, not need. As far as this draft, my center rankings are Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Smith, Benson, Moore, Danielson. Only forwards I would stay away from at the 10 spot are Dvorsky and Sale, at least for the guys ranked in that area. Reinbacher is still the only defenseman woth a top 10 pick imo.

The TSN guys had him rated pretty high, but Wheeler had Snuggs 26, Pronman had him 29, Murphy had him 26, Scouching had him 33rd, McKeen 31st, Smaht 42nd, FC Hockey (scout aggregator) had him 38th... a lot more places had him rated below where we picked him than had him ranked higher. Not everybody praised the pick after it happened, either.

Bolduc - Wheeler 35th, Pronman 33rd, Smaht 43rd, McKeen's 29th... you get the idea. Oddly, again, the TSN guys all had him pegged right around 16 where we took him. Weird. And kinda disconcerting. But I definitely saw the word "reach" thrown around over picking him.

You draft BPA when you're Arizona or Chicago. We're drafting guys who might be able to start blending in 1-2-3 years from now. We already have a decent idea of what that roster will look like, so ignoring need when you can kinda predict it, yeah, sorry. Don't know where anyone gets that idea. We having wingers falling out of our ears right now. Present and future. Wasting our first top 10 pick in ages (and two in the 1st round) on the last thing we need is something bad franchises do.

I agree with you on Reinbacher being a possible snare. And unless we somehow win the lottery, my C rankings go Moore, Danielson, Ritchie with Dvorsky in there somewhere (just not sure where). But if we cannot get Moore or Danielson, I say hold off until late in the round, focus on the D and C, and then maybe take Stramel late.
