No reason for San Jose to do this.

Sometimes the circumstances are such that the best players on the team decide to leave, due to age and desire to win the Stanley Cup. I proceed from the fact that Karlsson himself will show a desire to leave for a certain team, for example, Edmonton. I have a really good offer. Solid players for the middle six, a good defender for reasonable money, these are the players who will help here and now. And good prospects, the first round, albeit late, intriguing Petrov Avenue, which can surprise many and become a real star.

Except he can’t leave, he’s under a thing called a contract. I think your valuation of the players coming back are rather inflated. Ceci is a depth defenseman, Foegle a bottom six, Yamo could be middle 6 in San Jose but hasn’t played well this season. Both prospects are depth players at the nhl level.

All the same, Karlsson is 33 years old next season, and he certainly has a desire to have time to win the cup. Unfortunately San José is unlikely to be a real contender in the next four years of Karlsson's contract given the player's current form, it's likely Karlsson will want to move to a contender team and San José will have to take into account the player's wishes. I'm not saying that this will definitely happen, but the desire of the player cannot be ignored. At the expense of compensation for Karlsson, it will be possible for Bouchard, this is a real option. And at the expense of your assessment of Sisi and Petrov, I categorically disagree. What does a deep defender mean, a man has more than 20 minutes in every game and has been playing top pair for the last two years. Petrov is by no means a prospect of depth, he is a future top 6 player with 70 points in a season.

Rather bold to say a player who hasn’t played a single pro game will score 70 points in an nhl season. And a “depth” defender is someone who is a third line defender. The guy is terrible with an overpaid contract.

And again with Karlsson…he can ask for a trade all he wants, but it doesn’t mean anything. He’s contracted to play for San Jose and they don’t HAVE to trade at all.

I'm not saying that they are obliged, this is not that category at all. But any solid organization listens to its stars, this is a given, otherwise such an organization and the general manager will be treated with caution, I don’t think San Jose needs it. San Jose is far from the stage of real cup chances in the coming years, that's a fact. I'm not saying that they are obliged, but no one canceled the desire of the player.
The guy is terrible, with an overpayment ?????!!!!! you watched at least one game of Edmonton, Sisi calmly and adequately copes with 20+ minutes against the best attackers of the opponent. The guy has a positive +/- balance for the last four years, even though he plays against the best forwards of the opponent.
