I also hate how other teams fans think they can get him for a late 1st and a mid prospect when the Sens are trying to make the playoffs

Still we aren’t moving him for futures if he wants out.

It might get done at like 8.5 if he’s interested in staying

They’re going to move him for a Bjorkstrand, Gourde or Burakovsky type player and a 1st roubder

I didnt say theyd get worse. Their shooting luck will rebound, that will mask the hit they take. They'll be slightly better than this year not accounting for goaltending.

Norris is coming back but the Sens will be all right if they replace Cat with a 2 way 2nd line winger that can defend and still chip in 45-50pts. Offence will get a little worse but that 2nd line needs to be better defensively

I hear ya. Red Wings fans had to hear all the "Larkin is leaving" BS. All the Lowball trade offers. I was so happy when he finally signed. No more Larkin for Engvall, Holl and a 3rd trades.

Literally. If the Sens were rebuilding , there would be an argument for a deal like that. But it doesn’t make sense for the Sens unless they’re getting a replacement for next year in the 4-5 mill like a Rakell, Perron, Zucker, Bjorkstrand , Gourde, Burakovsky, etc along with other pieces that can be used to improve another position and cap space

It's the CFACGM way. Thinking, wishing and hoping your team can acquire (very)good players (stars) for pennies on the dollar.

As if all NHL GM's are Mike Milbury, Peter Chiarelli or Chuck Fletcher.

I guess it's essentially why CFACGM exists. Fantasy Land Central.

“From what I heard this morning, I think we’re talking about a guy who has no inclination of signing here,” said Garrioch. “He said he’s open to having discussions but I found what he said was very non-committal. He didn't show any signs that he’s going to sign a contact extension here.

And this is a Sens reporter so idk do what you will but I wouldnt be surprised if hes moved as he did not have a good season by his standards.

I also hate how fans will do anything to sign their "own" players, and do to do only have 20 man roster. Sorry Sens fans, if DeBrincat is to be signed long term, some cap is going to have to leave the team this year.

That’s fine. It will likely be Brannstrom, Joseph, etc. it won’t be any important players lol

It isn't "Canadian market bs", it's: https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/garrioch-alex-debrincat-has-no-inclination-of-signing-with-senators-could-be-moved-at-draft-1.1945897

Sorry that doesn't work really. Trading about minimal cap players....they have to be replaced by minimal cap players. Little cap savings.

I really didn't like the Sens plans in the last two seasons. Took on 12.5m with DeBrincat and Chychrun (according to this post) which costs them two high first rounders, a second, a third and future first.
Wouldn't the Sens been better off with 12.5m in cap to spend and kept five picks.

No incentive for SEA to do that
