Now I know what some of yall are thinking. But Debrincat had a down year "in terms of what he can do" and does not want to be back with the Sens. DET is more than willing to give them back what they spent. While it might not be the 7th overall pick 1st rounder, this draft is deep and is a good pick to offload for a tendy and or a player thats really good on the PK in their middle 6.

I think OTT says no and still somehow make it work with Debrincat by giving in and slightly overpaying him because goal scorers dont just fall off trees and Pierre Dorion wanted this team to compete in 2019-2020.

I'm a Detroit fan and I don't think that is enough. I don't think the price comes down in the offseason maybe around the TDL.

OTT says no. Despite DeBrincat having a down year, this does not come close at all to what OTT gave up to get him (Korchinski and Ludwinski). OTT is basically just getting a pick in the 16-20 range in this year's draft (even though it is deep) and the 45th overall pick.

Dorion will trade Cat for a 2nd rounder to a west cost team over sending him over to DET for this package.

LOLOL its literally the same price! 2022 was a weaker draft in comparison to this years draft. If you put Korchinski in this years draft I guarantee you he would go in the 15-25 range

This is probably not enough to get it done, but it's probably closer than a lot of people think. If New York gets bounced in the first round (looking likely), then this could probably work with another second or a B prospect like Johanssen

That is probably about right, I'd be shocked if the Senators get that much. Debrincat won't be worth very much. His free agent status complicates the situation and makes it so he can choose his destination. A team could acquire him and take him to club elected arbitration where he might be awarded as little as 7.65M, but that's a massive hassle that will drag and prevent teams from having a clear outlook of their cap situation since he could be awarded more than that. Most teams also won't want to give up premium assets for a player who doesn't want to be there, and will walk at the end of the season.

Maybe take out the second round pick, and put in Zadina. The high second is the better asset at this point, and he is almost certainly a bust, but from a perception POV the Senators can get Bruce Garrioch to tell the everyman of Ottawa who reads The Sun that Zadina is still a top prospect because he was taken 6th overall 10 years ago. With that said, the Senators probably don't want his term/cap hit when he has so little upside.

I would expect a mid to late 1st and a small plus, like a B Prospect.
