only pass for me is sharangovich for protas, everything else looks great. Unfortuanately would think that 1) Backstrom is back 2) you would have to retain more on Kuzy and 3) give up a little more for Cates

Bmac is praying that backstrom can’t play but he will sadly so this ruins the acgm but in case he doesn’t. Cates would be our Eller for years so adding Mikey and a Second would do? I’m in love with the third line but I get why not making the Yegor trade makes sense

Is that not just a straight up downgrade for the Devils?

Don't think PHI has any interest in moving Cates. 38 points and elite defensive game is a solid job from a 24 year old playing second year.

Kuznetsov's analytics are absolutely dreadful. Despite scoring 50 points this year, he's not worth this much either. Frankly, I don't think anyone would be taking him without some cap going the other way. Hell, I don't think anyone would take him even if you put him to waivers.

If Mantha's value is this poor I'd rather just keep him around. WSH paid arm and leg for him, I don't think quitting on him this quickly is in the cards, despite having a very lackluster season.

CGY is pretty much locked into trying to contend with the acquisitions they made last offseason. Lindholm is a vital piece of this process, he will not be dealt for futures until 2024 deadline, if it seems like CGY is out of contention and he's not willing to re-sign.

Protas for Sharangovich works as a frame on a trade if NJ needs to shed cap, but then Sharangovich will cost more than $2M. His 2x2 deal is expiring, and during this timeframe he's scored 37 goals and 76 points. That's easily more than a $2M player - we're talking about somewhere between 3.5 and 4.5 mil.

Lafreniere offer sheet is spicy though. NYR likely would have trouble matching that.

It is but he has waiver exception and is a solid bottom sixer where Yegor plays to begin with. And wasn’t he a healthy scratch recently?

Protas would also not play, and is worse than Sharangovich. Cap space and roster spots aren't needed, so there's no point at all in this trade. Yegor could fetch something of actual value, not a depth piece that we would immediately send down.

No one taking Kuzy on waivers is a wild take...

Well, this year until deadline we had grand total of 3 teams that even could've done it cap wise, and taking Kuzy in doesn't really do many favors for rebuilding teams like ANA and ARI, and BUF doesn't really need him with Tage and Cozens as Top6 centers already.

Assuming that isn't changing for next year with the cap increase being only one million, it very well could end up like that.

I like the Graves pickup. Caps very much need someone a physical element on the backend. I do think they'd be looking to add another goal scorer given the lack of offense the Caps got outside of Ovi. Lafreniere is a great flyer to take if there's a coach that thinks he can still get closer to his draft ceiling

He'd be the ideal pickup, but I don't think you can build out the rest of the roster if you pay him what he's gonna get. I'd be very open to bringing in Tarasenko if he comes in around $6M

Either change Lapierre + the 2nd to Strome OR add Connor McMichael to your proposal for Elias Lindholm with a long-term extension
