Personally I don't see the Jackets taking on Krug's age-32 through -35 seasons at $6.5M for just the cost of a 2nd rounder. They don't have the biggest need at that position - Werenski is signed long term, Denton Mateychuk's almost ready to go in the NHL, plus Jake Bean is signed for next year and they've got a couple young 3rd rounders that made their NHL debut this year (Knazko/Svozil) ready to fight for that 3rd pair slot. Adding an aging Krug to this pile seems like a waste of cap space and a roster spot for a younger team.

The habs arent takong on scandella to move half a dozen spots up from early 2nd to late 1st.

I don't get the point of the MTL trade. We're paying a good bit to take back basically the same player, but slower.

I'd probably be fine with the CLB trade, but I don't know if they'd do it.

Don't care for the BOS trade. Throwing away Bortuzzo is silly and we can get a better, more suitable LD with that cap space.

If it helps clear the runway, we could also take Svozil back in the deal.

what...scandella makes less and is on the same term. This should be done in a heartbeat if its offered to us.

With Eddy our LHD is complicated cause eddy gets minutes off his name, with him gone it eases the log jam and makes more minutes for guys like Xhekaj

Leave Eddy in and it likely moves Xhekaj out of the top 6 even if it shouldn't

The habs can just retain half and get a good return on Edmondson. Scandella doesnt have the same market value

I agree. At this point, I'd probably do it too.
Cheaper LHD, trade-up in the 1st round plus an extra 3rd, and what looks to be a decent looking 18-year old. I'm pulling the trigger if I'm Hughes.
