Middleton is really good and on a discount contract. Van trades away 2 auxiliary players. I don’t see why it’s bad

Define "really good". Would much rather the Canucks get as much out of Beauvillier playing him on the top line and trade at TDL. That value will easily surpass a depth Dman that likes to hit. Seems like an expensive way to upgrade Burroughs to me.

Middleton is much better than Burroughs. Obviously he has size but also good mobility, outlets passing, and in zone positioning.

Very poor take here imo

Like I said, an expensive way to improve in Burroughs, obviously he's better but he's certainly not very good.

Garland is the odd man out out. But that isn't enough term for Middleton justify the retention on Beauviller. If so, Canucks either get a pick on prospect back. If it's Garland, then he has term that gives Minny trouble due to cap space, so if retention then Minny gives back more.
