Habs wont trade Barron, as they're thin on RD.

Pick between the 1st and Barron, Montreal won't let both go. You can have Barron + 2nd or the 1st + Mesar and drop either Hoffman or Dvorak and Vesalainen. Montreal need RHD and if you take Barron we need the 17th pick to take a replacement RHD

I figured that. I have no idea who that 26 year old prospect even is.

I would maybe consider Barron, a 2nd and Dvorak for Dubois.

Would Guhle be a better target?

That's fair, although you can get a better player with the 17th pick IMO but the issue is Montreal really needs RHD so trading Barron means we need to draft one at 17 or make another trade to move up and get Reinbacher or ASP

No he wouldn't. Guhle's ceiling is higher than Barron's, Hughes and company likely see him as our future #1 D man.

All makes sense. Jets need RHD as well. I see a lot of posts on here giving Beck, Kidney and all types of wingers. We are deep with prospects on forward and Left defence. We don't even need or want Dvorak but need some type of replacement for Dubois until our prospects are ready.

Yeah, I think you can get Barron at the draft in a PLD trade but things need to fall in place for you. One of two scenarios need to happen either Montreal falls to 6 or 7 at the lottery or if we stay at 5th Smith is gone. I feel like in either scenario we then look at taking Reinbacher instead. If that happens then Barron becomes expendable since we still have Mailloux.

Considering how well TO is playing with Samsonov in net, why are they doing this?

Is it him or the team? Hasn't he let in 4 or more in 3 of the 4 games? Not that Helle has done any better than that against Vegas.

TO is up 3 games to 1 and Samsonov has been a big reason for that. Beyond game 1 he's been good.

I love'd to be a dick like some and say for the millionth time lmao
Barron, Beck arent for sale. Not now. Not ever

Oilers still dont have the cap unless the Jets take another dump like Foegele or Yamo.

Your narrative around Foegele is completely at odds with reality. He's among the best in the league at generating scoring chances.

[A little context for my stats. I took full season 5v5 stats and applied two filters: forwards only and minimun TOI of 495 minutes. That leaves us with the top 385 players by minutes played. Why 385? Because there are 32 teams and each with 12 regular forwards. 32 x 12 = 384, so pretty close. This way we can divide results by "1st line" (top 96 players), "2nd line" (97-192), etc. All stats are expressed as "per 60 minutes" to equalize for TOI differences.]

So here's how Foegele stacks up:

G/60: 0.93 (84th, tied with Panarin) 1st line rate
P/60: 2.09 (85th, tied with Tavares) 1st line rate
S/60: 9.36 (50th, tied with Cozens) 1st line rate
xG/60: 1.16 (9th, tied with Tavares) elite 1st line rate
SCF/60: 10.90 (23rd) elite 1st line rate
HDCF/60: 6.19 (8th), elite 1st line rate
Tka/60: 3.63 (3rd), elite 1st line rate
Hits/60: 7.11 (108th tied with Kreider) high 2nd line rate

Now consider that he spent just 8% of his TOI with McDavid this year. Foegele is a value contract, the exact opposite of a cap dump.
