Logan Couture and Elias Lindholm aren't happening, Kind of defeats the purpose of a selloff and trying to get younger.

Kevin Cheveldayoff already mentioned that he wants to get younger sooner rather than later.

Kevin Pionk is the last player that remotely interests us. Price isn't an issue Yzerman needs to 100% bring both Kyle Connor and Connor Hellebuyck home.

I would keep him until the deadline. A good mentor for the young D that will end up playing next year. At the deadline, we would be looking at a 1st or 2nd and B-level prospect.

Neal Pionk would be a great add for the right side, I really don't understand your logic behind that one. He would slot in nicely in 2RD. He's physical and a good defender, he is usually facing all the other teams top players.

I wouldn't trade Johansson yet. He is playing in the SHL as an 18 year old, he isn't doing anything extraordinary there but I feel it's a huge step. I also don't want to give to a future pairing of Johansson - Johansson. I would really like to add Pionk to the team though, maybe a different deal could be made. A second and Hanas? Good young playmaking forward who had a nice first year in the AHL.

Swap the 2023 17th overall for a top ten protected 2024 1st and it's a deal for PLD.

I'm just saying that if Winnipeg goes into selloff mode, Pionk isn't the one we'd be targeting. It would be 100% Kyle Connor and Connor Hellebuyck bring the Michigan kids home. Not saying that Chevy will make Connor available but if Yzerman offers him something he can't refuse it's quite possible. I'll take Pionk as an upgrade. Just saying he's not going to be our number one target if the Jets go into selloff mode.

Yeah, And we have the picks and prospects to get it done. Both would be major upgrades and put us closer to a playoff push. Sometimes you have to give up huge assets to get very good players. And both Connor and Helly immensely make us far better.

Gaining both of those players likely guarantees a loss of Cossa, Kasper, and thensome. I think it's too rich for our team. If we were two years ahead and had those players, sure yeah ofc, but I'm not so ready to jump the fence.

They won't cost Cossa, No way in hell would i give up a 20 year old for a 30 year old who's going to command at least minimally 8 x $8,000,000 on his next contract.

2 1st and Mazur would probably be the minimal start for Kyle Connor Winnipeg like Detroit needs RD help we can't help them much there.

Connor Hellebuych = 1st+2nd+pick/prospect equivalent to C level player or 3rd round pick.

Kyle Connor is going to be extremely expensive cost us both our Detroit 1st and Boston 1st next season. Probably need to include both Berggren and Mazur other pieces we won't want to surrender. it's a major expensive pipedream that's not appening.

I was proposing that exact trade a month ago and got flamed beacuse it wasn't Dach plus Beck in the return. And ppl were clueless about the strenght of this draft class. Ive been saying for a month that the 17th overall is more than enough. When others were posting deals for likes.

The value hasnt stayed the same after a lackluster post season. Its gone down. Jets fans dont get to cash in on the high end when at a low.

Not how leverage, timing or negotiating works.

This isnt about winning arguments. I dont care nor any other Habs fans about feelings. This is business. The argument was won a long time ago. Its about getting the correct value in the now.

All brutal costs. I don't think we are able to buy 'em just yet.

Yeah obviously Kyle Connor isn't happening.

There was a major rumbling over the summer, That when Connor Hellebuycks wife gave birth to their first child. That he wants to play closer to home. If there's any chance of him wanting to come home. We can just sign him for free on July 1st 2024 and not give up the assets for him.

Don’t really see the incentive for San Jose to downgrade their roster, take out the 1st and sure

I wouldn't trade for Hellebuyck unless it was a good deal. Husso I'm guessing would have to go the other way. They would need a goalie back somewhere in the deal. Jersey makes sense if they think he is a substantial upgrade on Vanecek. Even if they do a sell off I don't think Connor and Pionk would be part of it, at least not yet. They would have to move pending UFAs first so Scheifele, Hellebuyck, Dillon, Demelo and Wheeler. That alone is alot of turnover and likely wouldn't get all done in the offseason unless the offers were good enough.

its called downgrade for a year and then get better. Couture other than being the captain wont help SJS in their rebuild

SJS will either get a 2nd or they move up 10 spots in an amazing draft

Caps have no reason to bring back Schmidt. The defense is set, and they need all the cap room they have to upgrade the forwards.

Imagine paying basically 6 mil for Dvorak while getting a third pair D and moving up 10 spots…yes he’s their captain but that doesn’t matter. He’s still a 70 point and 25 goal player
