What needs to be done

Description
How far off are these trades. With the Dubois trade. I get it, MTL fans do not want to give up anything because they can sign him for free when he is a UFA. I also hear they could offer sheet him. I would have to think if they do that again. Someone with cap space will do it right back to them with Caufield. I added Mesar, but didn't put him in the lineup. Not sure if he is someone MTL is willing to move.

Scheif for Hanafin I think is interesting. Both pending UFA. Jets could use a big guy like Hanafin on the D and Flames could use Scheif if they can extended him and move on from Lindholm. If neither team can extend, they can flip at the deadline for some good pieces.

I could see Helle being interested in Columbus long term. Close enough to home with a team that is setting up to be a power house in a couple of years.

Lomberg and Gudas are thrown in to add a little grit which this team is desperately lacking since Thorburn was here.

Killorn is expensive for a third liner, but you just cannot put a value on the type of experience that guy can bring to the team.

Lastly, I understand that fans of every team have a different opinion then I. Keep it fun and clean people. We are all on here spitballing what everyone's value is. Truth is, none of us know and the bickering back and forth and being keyboard warriors telling people they are stupid is very childish and immature. I get it, I have done it myself, but its time to grow up.

This is the team I cheer for, and just the value that i think these players are worth.

Fair value straight up is Dvo + the Cats 1st + Kidney, since you added Appleton I think upgrading from Kidney to Mesar is acceptable. The issue I have is I am not sure I want PLD anymore, he has quit on 2 teams now and this time was in an elimination game.

I dont think Hughes is giving up his 2nd ever pick that he reached on and has a bond with Slafkovsky. Makes little sense.

This value for the ACGM made sense a month ago. Now that jets fans know a few of the prospects, guys like Gabe Perreault besting the Auston NTDP record, they want in!

Nah!

Magic beans in 2024 or 2025. They dont get sure things for PLD that will ask for a mega deal!

Good chance that Connor Hellebuyck is coming home to Detroit. Fat chance i see him going to Columbus.

Calgary sucks, And reportedly a lot of players are wanting out. No freaking way Mark Scheifele waives for that dump.

Very fair assessment. He is a spoiled player who thinks he is entitled to something. His play last night was embarrassing. Who knows, I believe his value is still there. He is a full 200' big center and is still only 23. Potential is high, he just needs to mature.

Really. I didn't hear that about Flames players at all. Where might someone grab that story?

Very few players actually want to go home to play. All I heard on here was that Trouba was 100% guaranteed to play for the Red Wings once he became a UFA. We all know how that turned out when he came out and said that New York was his first choice.

Red Wings fans saying they dont want to pay the 18th overall for Connor freaking Hellebuyck. But somehow habs fans need to step up lmao

Very easy from every fan base but the Habs that know their prospects better than most to just say deal the farm and be quiet about it.

I would agree, every fan knows there prospects better than anyone else. I actually know nothing about MTL prospects. I hear Guhle, Barron, and Slaf are untouchable. Don't hear much about anything else. Jets problem is they don't need LHD or offence. They are set there, only thing they need is RHD which makes a lot of teams apparently not great matches.

The thing with Dubois is. I know his agent said that he wants to play with MTL but I also belive that if MTL offered him 8 mil a year he will quickly change his mind for a team that offers him 10. Not saying that he will get that. I just feel like he will look for big money even if his heart is set on MTL.

Well the rumor is they don't want to play for Suter, Not necessarilly that they don't want to play in Calgary

I am not disputing that, just would like to give this story a read. I watched the exit interviews and everyone seemed pretty pumped to return and show that this year was not the norm.

Obviously they'll need to move some people out, As obviously they don't have enough cap space to fill out their roster.

That is true. Completely different from players voicing publicly that they want to move on.

Again, not disputing that they will need to make some changes to be cap compliant. Just would like to see the reference to see what players are being critical.

Reportedly there is some chatter that prominent players just don't want to play for Darryl Sutter. It's made known that both Backlund and Lindholm are non-committal in staying long term.

Okay, so safe to say this is 3rd party information and you don't have access to this information? Not trying to be confrontational, but I cannot seem to find this information anywhere on the internet. I watched Lindholm in his exit interview say that he would love to return but will have to wait and see if he is offered an extension. I took that as face value that the player very much wanted to be back.

Why do wings fans assume every player wants to play for them? They haven’t been good in a long time and are far away from the playoffs still

The comments from Lindholm and Backlund were from their year-end exit interviews.

The Jackets decline. we will see if Elvis can rebound under a new coach and with a new goalie coach.
