Matt Roy's probably #1 on my 2nd pairing RD trade wish list for SJ. Seems realistic if LA commits to Brandt Clarke and others and decides/sees that a Roy extension at a reasonable cap hit behind next season isn't feasible because of cap impacts on the team and/or other players primed to take over his spot for cheaper.

But it's doubtful that he's available at that price. LA might consider if SJ adds a 2nd rounder.

I do like the Caps deal but don't think WSH accepts. It's closer than the LA one though.

Overall, very solid roster and plan for the team next year 👍

Los Angeles has 14 forwards on the roster right now under contract for 2023-2024, plus 4 RFAs (two of whom are Gabe Vilardi and Rasmus Kupari), plus prospects like Alex Turcotte and Sam Fa-gem-o who will get long and serious looks in training camp, so the Kings would have absolutely no interest in Ozzy Weisblatt, and Jacob MacDonald is 30 years old with only 101 NHL games under his belt, i.e., an AHLer. We decline, with prejudice, because the only addition that would change our mind is your 2023 first, and you're not going to do that.

hard pass from the caps. I'll assume the 3rd is to dump mantha, which is reasonable. ferraro is the newest member of the "just because he plays a lot does not mean he's good" club and at what is probably the caps' strongest position. raska is an ahl depth player. that does not get you from ~25 to 8 in this draft

There is no chance for SJ to pick third, though. Please explain your rationale for being able to draft Carlsson. If you win a lottery spot, you take Fantilli or Bedard. If anyone below you wins a lottery spot, you're picking fifth or even sixth. If Anaheim and Columbus don't more, you're picking fourth. Are you assuming whoever picks third picks Michkov?

What happens if Ottawa wins the first overall lottery moving up 10 spots to 2nd overall and the Sharks win the second overall lottery moving up 2 spots to 2nd overall?

It's just a possible scenario. You don't know what's going on in the GM's head. Have you forgotten the Eklund situation? With Wright?
