Hellebuyck and Parayko were born in the same month of the same year. Hellebuyck has one season left on his contract. Parayko has seven seasons left on his contract. Unless Parayko has suddenly become worthless without my noticing, I don't think that St. Louis would trade him for Hellebuyck even up, let alone add a first, never mind adding TWO firsts. (DeMelo is a nice player, but doesn't affect the basic equation much.)

appreciate the feedback. In all seriousness, I didn't know Parayko was all that good to be worth more than a Vezina winning goalie.

Very doubtful Mark Scheifele waives for Calgary. I see him more in Boston if Don Sweeney can wiggle the cap.

laugh Parayko and 2 1st for DeMelo and Hellebuyck, Yeah like Doug Armstrong is stupid enough to commit between $14,000,000-$15,000,000 per long term between Jordan Binnington and Connor Hellebuyck hell they couldn't even afford to re-sign Ville Husso and you honestly think they can afford to give Connor HelleBuyck between $8,000,000 to $9,000,000 per for 8 years shakes head And reportedly Parayko will only waive to go home near Edmonton.

Which would you rather have: former Vezina Trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck or this season's Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark?

Time is an important factor in ultimate value.

Oh agreed on Ullmark, but I didn't see Parayko as a top pairing Dman. I would of thought 3-4 at best with an ageing contract.

I also believe Helle will be top 3 this year in Vezina voting.

Creating 10 ACGMs for the Florida 1st won’t make it a reality..right?

I hope you know this so you won’t be crippled with the return once he’s moved for a Thomas Vanek return at the TDL errr I’m kidding I actually realize he will be dealt in theSummer as a business decision BUT also as a business decision leverage is a reality sorry not sorry. The jets are NOT getting guaranteed assets which dwarf PLDs value. That is called a sunk cost.

That's fine; I'll accept both propositions. Nevertheless, term has a distinct value, especially when there's such a gigantic difference in term between the two players. If Armstrong traded Parayko for Hellebuyck and Winnipeg's 2023 or 2024 first, I think he'd get some serious criticism from an appreciable part of the Blues fanbase.

To be honest, I have no idea what he will fetch. I kind of wish one day I wake up and he was traded to a team other than MTL. I do think he will get a first and prospect, but where all that falls in the order I am not sure. I do think that the pick has to be for this years draft. A 24 or 25 pick does not help the Jets. I could see the fla first, A prospect and maybe a Dvorak or Edmundsen type trade, but I could also see a Dvorak, Edmundsen and a 2nd being realistic. Nobody ever knows, we all think we do, but we don't.

The fact that three, four, five seasons down the road, he might still be a top-4 (second-pairing at worst) defenseman, while Hellebuyck might well be elsewhere.

That's fair. I just didn't know if I was missing something. 2 of his past 3 years have been his worst so I was just curious on what everyone else was seeing. Goalies probably age out quicker too.

Except that's not what you proposed. You proposed one year of Helly and one year of Demelo for a locked down Parayko PLUS two 23 1sts. Kinda glossed right over the two 1sts there.

Yeah not sure why the blues do this. They would run Helleybuck and Binnignton? Are they going to pay 13-14 million on goalies? Like this doesn't even make sense at all in any way for us
