Guhle is not getting traded for PLD. The Habs would much rather part with Beck or Mesar or Farrell before Guhle. Not happening.

No from the Canes. Minnesota can’t take on that level of a cap hit.

So your reasoning is that the Habs should avoid an offersheet where compensations are a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd...by trading the equivalent of two 1st instead ?
Good one.

Gotcha, okay. I’m not incredibly familiar with the Habs prospects, so I kinda just picked the name I know, so take it with a grain of salt. I would still take the trade if Mesar was in instead of Guhle though.

Avs decline, they dont have the cap space. I would love to add Scheifele but no cap space.

Thing is though, Guhle is not a prospect, he is our best D man. Trading him would be like Winnipeg trading Morrissey (in terms of importance to the team not skill and experience). It's just not going to happen

No way, habs should OS him for that package! It will be good content for when the jets OS Slaf back. Maybe even CC this year 😂. It’s worked out so well in the past

Not saying they should. In fact, unless the Habs re-acquire their own 2nd in a trade with Arizona, they can't offersheet Dubois to that bracket.
I was just responding to "Additional Details" comment in the trade proposal.

That being said, Habs aren't trading Guhle (not even one-for-one) for Dubois, let alone adding a mid-first on top of it.

Habs would not trade Guhle 1 for 1 against any player on the Jets other than Connor or Morrissey, let alone add a 1st.

Mesar is maybe more palatable. I am not a Mesar fan, but I think Kidney is more likely since he was picked by a different GM.

Montreal has a lot of very good assets to give in a package for anyone. PLD to Montreal seems probable.

Guhle is not one of the pieces that Montreal is going to move off from.

Minnesota would be interested in Scheifele, not Wheeler -- if they were interested in any Jet at all.

No cap space for the Avs to acquire Schiefele and I'd doubt they'd give up those pieces anyway for a guy with 1 year left.

I like the idea of Scheifele on the Avs but he wouldn't be a fit under Bednar and his reluctance on changing his style of play or buy into a system is a red flag I would avoid. Way too much to give up for him with that aside.
