Habs take that

Provided they can find a way to clear up their own log jam on defense, can't see them trading draft picks for Durzi unless that happens first.

There is no logjam, just a few prospects, matheson and then garbage in Eddy, Savard and Wideman. Just dont play the garbage, if they dont like it. Find a team to take you

Habs accept.

Yes, Its still a log jam at defence. I know a lot of Habs fans (like a few Sabres fans in my ACGMs) will make up excuses why not to accept because its NOT their own deal but RHD is a need.

Matheson #1, Savard veteran RD will play, Guhle & Barron > Durzi (if not right now, soon).

So now we are paying 2nd + 3rd for a 3rd pairing PP specialist, that is going to knock one of Xhekaj, Harris, Edmundson out of the lineup (and push the one that was already scratched further down the depth chart)... and we have Hutson + Mailloux coming long term. Yeah that's a bit of a log jam, why should the habs give up a 2nd + 3rd to add Durzi to that mix?

Like I said, they only do this if they move other D out first, that's obvious.

Edit: Not to mention, Xhekaj brings intangibles that the habs love and Harris is better than Durzi in every metric of the game except powerplay and younger (this was discussed more thoroughly in an earlier thread today).

We're not trading Durzi for draft picks unless the deal somehow involves a top-40 2023 selection.

Xhekaj is a bum outright. Dude is not an nhl player. Youd have it like this with Kovacevic as the 7th d. Xhekaj can be traded so we scam some gm and Eddy as well. Wideman can go back to Russia or sit in the AHL

Matheson - Barron
Guhle - Durzi
Harris - Savard

Depending on the way they trade DeBrincat, I'd be interested in Arvidsson
