Description
Stretched with the cap & keeping a window open, what I would like to see JBB do.
*Key points:
-Killorn takes a pay cut to stay in Tampa Bay.
-JBB re-signs his trade acquisitions and a few Crunch players to help bottom 6.
-Colton gets traded after being unaffordable.

Trades
TBL
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (OTT)
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Being close to the cap, TB re-signs Jeannot & a discounted Killorn leaving Colton the odd man out. JBB ships him to STL and recovers some much needed draft capital.
STL
  1. Colton, Ross [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
STL trades for Colton on a low risk/high reward deal. Moving 2 3rds because of his RFA status but having 3 1sts in 2023 draft, the price isnt too concerning. Colton helps fill some holes left from their deadline fire sale last season.

Pretty reasonable cost and target. Only concern is what kind of a contract has he earned at this point.

He seems like a pretty good target to bridge a gap and possibly be a long term solution. We’re just fairly cap strapped (I don’t think he’ll reach the amount where we can’t afford it) but it certainly limits our ability to address our needs on LD

So, let me see if I read this correct he pays a 1-5 for Jeannot to accept 2 3's for a better player In Colton and this makes sense to you? Colton Who has proven to be a really good playoff performer? Really?

Colton has earned more than his current $1.25M. He has arbitration rights so he will likely want as much as he can get. He's the better player but he's still a free agent. 2 thirds is a good deal for a 3rd line forward. SO yeah, you get what you can. Especially since they've committed over $19M in extensions that will kick in next season.

That's utterly foolish Colton has put up 1.14 goals per 60 playing over the last 2 seasons with 3/4 liners and 2ns PP compared to say John Tavares during the same time who plays 2nd line top PP with top 6 wingers i.12 goals per 60 but sure give him away for nothing DUMB you absolutely keep him if you can't get WFM for him

Value-wise, the Blues would jump all over that. It really just depends on how much Colton wants to sign.
