No way the Penguins would be doing what the Panthers are doing right now had they gotten in over Florida. That Blackhawks - Penguins game at the end of the regular season is starting to show some butterfly effects.

Well you could say he hit the nail on the head.

Taking away Heiskanen and giving them the 1-0 lead in one play started such a snowball effect I can't really recall any other recent ones like this.

Can't really win anything if your 1D is Colin f*cking Miller.

Well if there's any solace to be found there, this series is going pretty much exactly the way the Wild series went.

Decent Game 1 but ultimately couldn't win.

Great showing in Game 2 and a clear win.

Absolutely f*cking dreadful Game 3 and a massive L.

...so DAL should win the next three, right? awesome face

Panthers are like the LAK of 11 years ago. Very poor start to the regular season...got hot at the end of the season...snuck in as an 8 seed...went on an absolute heater once they got in. It didn't take long for Kings to be recognized as the best team in the playoffs after the dispatched the top 2 seeds in just 9 games that year. Panthers played an elite #1 seed, hence the need for 7 games. Otherwise, very similar runs.

No doubt who the new cup favorite is right now.

Last year Draisaitl set 3 new NHL records in the playoffs.

1. Most assists in a playoff series with 15. This in just 5 games v Calgary.
2. Most assists in a period with 4.
3. Most points in a 5 game series with 17. Rick Middleton had a 19 point series (7 games) in 1983 and Wayne Gretzky had a 18 point series (6 games) in 1985. Mario Lemieux also scored 17 (6 games) in 1992. The previous record for a 5 game series was set by Gretzky in 1987, with 15 points.

Amazing. What does one do for an encore?

Here are some of the record breaking possibilities for Draisaitl this year:

1. Most goals in a playoff year. Record is 19, Leon has 13 already.
2. Most goals in a playoff series. Record in 12, Leon has 6 in 2 games v Vegas.
3. Most PP goals in a playoff year. Record is 9, Leon has 6 already.
4. Most PP goals in a playoff series. Record is 6, Leon has 3 in 2 games v Vegas.

Which ones do you think he'll accomplish in the coming weeks?

Looking at that play in slo-mo, looks like the puck deflects off of Ryan Suter's stick, just another instance of Ryan Suter killing the Stars

I’m still semi confident in the Leaves.

They clearly need to change, as multiple years show.

Sometimes it takes the darkest timeline for that to happen. Getting embarrassed, having your key guys absent, likely facing drastic changes to the roster and front office maybe enough to flip them to win at all costs mode. It just doesn’t make much sense for a team to consistently dominate the regular season to be so awful in the post season, and to look so different.

Good luck to your teams if they’re in the lottery.

It's impressive that Florida has been winning despite Barkov being mediocre so far.

If Bob was in VGK and playing like that doubt those would be the totals.

All due respect to money puck, how could FLA not be the odds on favorite rn. EDM is looking very dangerous, but their 2nd round series is tied 1-1 while FLA is a virtual lock to advance.

Dunno...I guess they don't like the winner of that series....

Winner of EDM, VGK: 30.8%
Winner of CAR, NJD: 27.5%
Winner of FLA, TOR: 22.8%
Winner of DAL, SEA: 18.9%

Excuses, excuses. The Leafs' big guns just don't come through in crunch time, while Edmonton's do.

Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Tavares have combined for zero goals and just 4 assists in 3 games against Florida. That just isn't good enough.
