Maybe a second, you aren't getting that pick for Colton.

Colton is 26 and has never got 40 points. He isn't returning a 1st in a deep draft.

Colton is no better than Rasmussen, Kubalík, Berggren, Fabbri, or Söderblom.

You have 2 problems here. First I don't see JBB trading Colton to keep Killorn who will be 34 before the season starts. Colton will be 27 when the season starts that 7yr difference. Second as much as I like Colton he isn't returning a 1st

I like Colton. But I'm not trading 18OA for him.

Over the last 2 seasons Colton 1.14 goals per 60 Fabric 1.02 Kubalik .9 Rasmussen .75,
Really in the last 2 seasons . He's just as good gefensively and has as much of a motor as any of these guys so no they aren't as good.

You're absolutely correct on the first part however with his production both regular season and playoffs in his somewhat limited roll doesn't return that value. JBB should tell anyone to pound f***ing sand if they only offer a second.

Colton is an energy guy and is good as a role player and a player teams need. But asking Yzerman to trade the 18OA pick for a role player who is one year from FA, is not going to happen. That 18OA pick may or may not pan out, but the risk to take on a guy who can walk in 1 year outwieghts the chance that the draft pick flops. Trust your scouting. If this was a better player who can play in top six, maybe that is more logical, but not an energy guy.

He's better than Fabbri since he can actually stay on the ice, maybe kubalik too depending on your thoughts of what makes someone good. I'd take Colton for sure.

Colton over the last 2 seasons 1.14 goals per 60
Playing with 3/4th liners compared to say
Tavares. 1.12
Kubalik .9
Marchand 1.16
He may be the most underrated player on CF.

And that maybe true, but again for a rebuilding team like the Wings, they can not take chances on pending Free Agents, who could walk for nothing. Wings have cap space but he might not want to resign and then Wings have a player for one year, whereas that 18OA pick is a risk also, but will be under team control for 8 years at a cost controlled pace.

Colton is a pending UFA and could walk or stay, but tif what you say is true, he will want to get paid and then there is the cap issue. Again, if this was the trade deadline, could TB get a 1st, sure, but a. Wings are not in position to trade 1st's and b. this is not the deadline.

Fair enough however if the package isn't at least that TB shouldn't consider moving Colton (personally I think they should make signing him the priority).

The only GM dumb enough to pay a 1st for Ross Colton would be Julien BriseBois.

Dude paid a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th for Tanner Jeannot. Still can't believe that.
