Team: 2023-24 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: May 3, 2023
Published: May 3, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I feel like Gus might not accept because its somewhat a cheap contract, and then I bought out Goligoski because I doubt he wants a trade and nobody would want to take that cap hit on, brought in Stone as a cheap 6th D, still a little bit of room for when Shaw comes off LTIR

Not allowed to buyout Goligoski...NHL only only allows two players per team, per season to be bought out....we cant buy anyone out until after the 26-27 season i believe, as we are still attached to Suter & Parise until then..... Gustavsson's contract has been projected to be in the 3.3-3.8mil AAV range...so probably close to Fleury's contract on a 2 year deal would be close.

I'm pretty sure teams are allowed up to 3 buyouts on the books at a time (much like they can retain salary on up to 3 players at a time). The only references I can find online to a limit of 2 are when talking about compliance buyouts, of which teams were allowed 2 buyouts to use that did not count against the cap. Without breaking out the CBA and reading through the buyout section (which I'm not entirely up for right now), I can't find anything else limiting a team to having just 2 standard buyouts on the books at once. If you could find me a source, I'd appreciate it.
