Im pretty sure it's the other way around... We are not letting Anderson go for a Goalie playing in the ECHL( with a 2.5 GAA and 9,13 s%), a bust and a 2nd round pick. We have the cap space and Andy is a leader in the room. No need to trade him just to trade him.

No no take that deal and run. Just for the 2nd and 3rd rounders id do it. And you get a solid G prospect (they take time to dev) and a low risk, high reward winger

laugh laugh Zadina+2nd+3rd round pick is a major overpay for a 20-30 point winger making 4 x $5,500,000 let alone adding sebastian Cossa who's 100% untouchable. Talking about a delusional trade.

Buddy, I'm sorry but defend this...
G GAA Sv%
2022-23 Grand Rapids Griffins AHL 3 5.57 0.783
2022-23 Toledo Walleye ECHL 46 2.56 0.913

I get you don't want to trade him... but from a habs fan POV, there is no reason to trade Andy for that package. I may believe Norlinder is the next Karlsson, but I can't really defend it either.

What a shame, that a goalie who was scouted by actual professionals and was determined a consensus first rounder, is drafted in the first round, must show that he warrants that pick before he can consume alcohol or else he is not valuable. If only there were some stats and facts that could support a goalie who became legit after they turned 20 years old...

Caufield, Suzuki for Hirose and Luff

Y'all are legit 7 years in a rebuild and only 4 spot higher than the habs - stop overevaluating your players.

Cossa was supposed to be great... but he hasn't showed up. Just like Fucale was supposed to be the next great thing. Just like Lafrenière, Puljarvie and Ollie Julevie were supposed to be GREAT.

Scouts get it wrong sometimes... ask the habs... we know.

It never ceases to amaze when someone tries to tell fans about their teams prospect despite not knowing anything about them. You do realize that he was part of a 18 game win streak in Toledo right? Also, his team dominated their first round series in large part due to goaltending. Costa is leading the playoffs in save percentage. The Griffins sucked this year and the Wings did not want to expose Cossa to that environment.

Sound like an excuse - I'm sure Grand Rapid would have needed good goaltending.

Filip Mesar who wasn’t even 1 ppg in the OHL 😹😭 and two-2nd round picks for Dominik Kubalik? Would you do that. Just kidding, I like Mesar, but that’s how bad this is.

Terrible TBH, Hell even Slaf is not looking good.

If this guy is the average Habs fan then I feel bad for the Habs. Apparently if you don't win the Cup as a rookie like Patrick Roy did then you're a bust.

I’m an habs fan and even I know Anderson isn’t worth that. Cossa and a third seems more realistic. Or Zadina, Stl second and a third

It a trade that does nothing for both the Habs and the Wings. Middle 6 scoring winger who barely gets 12 goals... we already have Hoffman for that. I rather have Anderson (or his value to trade for a more useful package) than Cossa and a 2nd.

Trading Cossa makes no sense for the Wings - why trade when the value is low - they lose nothing letting him stew in the AHL and ECHL until he either becomes good or bust. Adding 5.5M$ in cap does nothing but impede detroit hability to sign their future core.

I'm not hyped for Cossa as much as Wings fan - thats ok

I don't like Zadina and don't think he would fit witht he habs who already have a ton of underperforming middle 6 wingers

Thus, adding a 2nd round pick is not moving the needle for me thats all...

No reason to do a trade just to do a trade - it helps neither team who are in a rebuild.

Exactly, takes one to know one.

Cossa does have potential - its not translating right now and if we are to trade Anderson - it won't be to the Wings who are rebuilding and it will be for either picks we will choose or prospect we have more certainty (Goalies are too uncertain). if we go on potential alone... Anderson has the potential for 27 goals and has averages 20 goals when healthy + heavy grit player.

Thus I just value that more than the potential of Cossa becoming a #1.

I see no value in Zadina - I wouldn't know were to slot him in the line-up.

C'mon, you need to be more patient. I could probably list 30+ guys here from just past three seasons, but here are few. Dach, Frost, Tippet, Cozens, Chytil, Hayton, Hughes, Stutzle, Vilardi...etc. All of these guys have been called "Busts" by idiots. PATIENT!

Well living in a glass house throwing stones makes sense when your team was a Cinderella story for a year before plummeting to the bottom.

My favorite part of CF is how it’s instant gratification now. Each year only one team wins and 31 lose, but the pecking order for where you lose means change everything now lol

Why not build a team, have a run, try and sustain it for as long as possible while it makes sense, hope to win a few chips along the way. Oddly enough Detroit has more Stanley Cup wins in my lifetime than other team. I’ll take that combined with the “Dead Wings” and the “7-8year drought” over flirting with the first round of being one and done.

Edit: forgot about the damn ice birds. Pitt has 5 to Det 4 in my lifetime.

Oh I know - and I want the habs to be patient. Expectation were high as he was overhype to explain picking him over Wright.

Well, we did lose our #1 Center, #1 Dman and #1 Goalie in the span of one offseason. That kinda hurt.

I agree with the importance of rebuilding for longterm success - I'm happy KH finally pulled the trigger on it... Contrary to you, I havent seen a cup in MTL in my lifetime and it sucks. i'll take 5 years of pain if it remedies that.

And what has Wright done at the NHL level - nothing. Big NA bias?

Yeah injuries aren’t great, actually a pretty big factor in the Wings losing their wildcard spot. Bert and Vrana potting 40-50 goals would have been nice.

In that 7 year span it also would have been nice to have one shred of lottery luck (feel free to look into it) that may have helped jumpstart the rebuild similar to Edmonton and New Jersey, Pitt, Chicago, Montreal, Buffalo, etc.

So MTL is left wink
