Jets decline zhilkin is basically a younger version and we don't have room for gregor so it's a pointless trade

I like the trade, but if Tampa could afford to pay Ferraro's $3.25m salary, they'd just keep Colton and pay him that $. Also need to point out you traded for Colton, but didn't sign him or put him in the lineup.

Yeah TB isn't trading Colton for the money they can pay and keep him as stated above but here's a good reason why.

Colton over the last 2 seasons 1.14 goals per 60
Playing with 3/4th liners compared to say
Tavares. 1.12
Kubalik .9
Marchand 1.16
He may be the most underrated player on CF. Ferraro is a good player but San Jose definitely is the one adding.

Ferraro is the kind of guy that you want in the playoffs. He's uber tough, gritty, good skater, great leader and top PK unit. I think it's a fair trade 1-1 but I understand the $.

So is Ross Colton as he has proven TB is saturated with leaders not a big deal I honestly think Colton is if given the top 6 roll of being a 30-35 goal complete pest

I'm not denying that he's good. I'm only saying Ferraro is also good. Be happy

I like the plan you have.
Few changes I would make,
Jarry isn’t worth that I would look at a short term like trading for Lehner or signing one of Andersen or Ranta
Gregor and Ferraro trades both are probably better off not doing and just keeping them.
3 draft picks are ideal pieces in the draft, unless we get 1st or 2nd OA!
While buying out Kabanc is a reasonable cap savings, we’re not going to be better this year so it’s smarter to keep him hope the end of this years play Carie’s over and he either becomes a valuable piece for us or trade bait at the dealine.

I agree about Labanc but the defense needs surgery as it was horrid this year. Ferraro while being an excellent asset can be moved to fill another hole as LHD has been rebuilt and let's be honest he has struggled mightily the last year or so, I think if Knyzhov gets back to form, Thrun keeps developing and playing like he was and Pulli comes as advertised, Ferraro is no longer needed. Especially if Vlasic continues returning to form.

Look, we've been gap filling the goaltending position since the Jones buyout and frankly when you have the opportunity to sign a legit starter, you take it. Kaapo isn't ever going to be a starter. Romanov, Chrona and Maki need development time probably 2-3 years maybe less for Maki if he can stay healthy and that's a BIG if. Lehner didn't even play last season and his off ice drama with $$ issues are not a desirable distraction.

First you try to sell me on how great he is the " let's be honest he's struggled the last year or so and you want TB to add with Colton stop talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Jarry to me is another reimer Jones Kap and not a true difference maker starter, that’s why we draft Hrabal and till he or another young guy is ready we are going to have to deal with bandaids
